This info may be useful to others trying to decide which Federal Gold Medal Match (FGMM) 175gr. SMK OTM load to use in their accurized M14 or other auto loading rifle: the 7.62X51mm loading or the 308 WIN loading. With the price of high quality factory ammunition being what it is, you want to make as informed a decision as possible. Federal lists both loadings as having a MV of 2600 FPS but I will confirm actual MV/ES/SD over (5) rounds next time I test loads. Federal has stated that their 7.62X51mm FGMM loading uses a mil-spec primer designed for use in auto loading rifles with floating firing pins. FWIW.
