The snow has finally settled enough for me to be able to walk through my yard and set up a target :)

Did a little bit of load development for my 6SLR

Rifle specs are-
Stiller TAC-30AW
26" Brux #5
Manners T3 W/Mini Chassis
Sightron SIII 6-24x50 LRMOA

This is my second 6SLR and RL-22 outshines all other powders in the first so that's what I've started with, and it looks like that's what I'll stick with.

I worked my way up to 44.5gr on top of a Berger 105vld hunting bullet. 44.5gr got me to 3190fps but flattened the primers a little more than I care to see so I backed it off to 44.2 which took care of the pressure situation and put me at 3130fps average over 5 shots.

This is the only group I shot and it was the 5 with 44.2gr

4 in the same hole and I felt myself move on the one to the right, my bench needs to be tightened after sitting outside all winter..that's my story and I'm sticking too it lol.

All in all it was a good day!

Thanks for reading

Steve

I re-barreled a TRG-22 with a 7.5 ROT Bartlein. This chambering is a bit more finicky than I expected. I did not have great luck with 105 Hybrids which is too bad because its the bullet I really hoped would work. Ultimately settled on 105 Scenars over H100V at 3260fps and Berger 115's over RL22 at 3140fps.

How many rounds did you get through your first one before accuracy fell off?

I sold the last one before it was shot out, the rifle was a single shot built on a savage target action set up for benchrest. Just wasn't my style.

However the builder and original owner of that rifle went through a couple barrels that lasted him around 2200rds before he pulled them, he is a bench shooter too so his idea of lack of accuracy and mine are two different things.

Marcoman, how long is your barrel? I've gotta get my hands on some H100V to try out, how much of. It are you loading? I hear great things about its consistency and velocity.

Steve

Its been a great performer (H100V), good velocity with low spread. My charge weight for H100V is 42.8gr under the 105 Scenars and 45gr RL22 under the 115 Bergers.

The barrel is 28.5" and achieves the above velocities within acceptable (to me) pressures. Hopefully it lasts 2K rounds, I'd be happy with that.

Nice looking rig by the way!

Mine has an 8 twist, 26", 4 groove Hawk Hill on it. Shoots the 105 hybrid beautifully at 3160 or so with 43.2gr H4350.

I'll be damn surprised if it goes 2k rounds.

I just finished my 6xc barrel, a melonited benchmark. It had 500 rounds of 105 hybrid @ 2975 fireforming 22-250-->6xc ammo run through and about 500 rounds of full power 6xc (105@3125) and about 600 rounds of low power H1000 loads running the HRNDY 105bthp @ 2750-2800.
