Hey Gents!

I built another hunting/long range plinking 260 Rem.

I currently own an SHV F1. No complaints about it in all honesty.

However I can save about $500 picking up a new PST GEN2 5-25.

Hows the current crop of PSTs holding up?

Hows the low light clarity vs the SHV/NXS line?

That extra 11x of juice is nice spotting and taking those real long shots.

Thanks

I’ve only peeked through a PST Gen 2. I used to own an SHV F1, which I sold to fund a project. I wouldn’t hesitate buying a SHV F1 again in the future.

i own both other than my SHV is SFP, the NF glass is noticeably better. Though i haven't spent a lot of time behind the gen 2, i wouldn't buy another. I'll probably end up selling the gen 2. Since i purchased the gen 2, I've bought a NF mil-xt and 2 Kahles i624's. They've kinda spoiled me

I just purchased the PST GenII 5x25 and I really like the feel of all turrets, also the glass is very clear, tracks well and holds zero dead nuts. The scope feels solid and as long as it holds together, I feel I got my monies worth. Mac

It comes down to magnification. That seems to be what you are comparing or you would be asking about the 3-15x44 genii pst. If you want more magnification then pick up the Vortex. If not, then the SHV 4-14x50 F1 is the better scope in every other way especially as a hunting optic. Better glass, thicker reticle, better illumination.
