And that article does not even consider the economic loss to the economy of how their presence depresses wages for Citizens. Or the costs required of bilingual education. Bilingual anything is a pet peeve of mine. The ESL mandates that public schools need to follow puts an incredible drain on what kids can learn. It forces teaching to the lowest common denominator.
You want to come to the US, learn the language. When my parents came here in 1958 from Greece, they waited for 4 years to get in. No handouts were provided. No "bilingual" training was provided - sink or swim. My parents learned the language and became citizens as soon as allowed by law. They did well for themselves. I have done considerably better despite struggling with the language in elementary school even though I was born here because we spoke Greek at home. My parents did not understand the grammar rules, etc. I had to sit in remedial English classes even though I was off the charts in mathematics.
The way illegal immigrants are treated today is an affront to immigrants that came here legally.

Harvard means more to you than it does to me. Who did the study means little. Who paid for the research in the study means more. So do you know who funded that study?
As a health care industry specialist I can attest to the financial cost of the illegals who show up in the ER right off the plane/boat, or whatever with complex problems that cost the taxpayer many hundred thousands of medicaid dollars per case to fix., and chain migration where they bring in their extended elderly family members for free care which by US by law cannot be denied on the basis of the EMTALA law, then they all get lawyers and cannot be sent home because their shit hole countries cannot take care of them, and an home trip would be tentamount to execution ( Cancer, Renal Failure, paraplegia, chronic infections etc)...cruel and unusual punishment...
