Jack was bitten by this guy about 3 years ago. We called a vet friend and she said get Benadryl in him ASAP and some Prednisone if possible. My FIL had some Prednisone so I rushed 3 hours home stopping along the way for Benadryl. He was fine in a couple of days but I was flippin out.

I’m usually a live and let live….The snake did not survive.

I've given my snakebit dogs Benadryl for decades with success. All bites were from copperheads or water moccasins, not rattlers. A homeopathic vet friend of mine said to use Lachesis mutus 30c dose. Its made from the venom of the bushmaster snake. He has used it extensively and says it works. It can be purchased at Sprouts or Whole Foods. I haven't tried it, but probably will at some point.
