Poor little guy has some grass, dirt, rocks, and a log to play with. Meanwhile, momma looks like shes playing on her Obama phone!View attachment 82491571939 Oregon, Josephine County, near Grants Pass.

You forgot the two slices of cheese on each!!!!
My grandparents were similar. My grandfather worked concrete jobs and my grandmother picked berries, hops or did other odd jobs while he was working. My mom and her sister went to many different schools growing up in the 40's and early 50's.Grandparents and my dad when he was little were pickers all over CA and OR. They finally settled in Myrtle Point, OR. Those accomodations look nicer than the stories they told. Most of the time they were in a tent and took it with them as they followed the harvests.
No wonder there were lots of volunteers for the military.View attachment 82491571939 Oregon, Josephine County, near Grants Pass.

The manager is the one who doesn't understand where the revenue stream comes from. The manager is the idiot. And I own a business, so I know what I am talking about. Those types have no home here. Safety is one thing, and it is extremely important, like critical, above all else. But a dude who knows how we keep everyone employed is the new manager. The horseshit manager who wants to cite regulations for no REAL reason other than to justify his desk job can find another home. And no one will cry when he leaves. I greatly prefer to turn workers into managers. I do not like engineers or managers who have not spent time on the floor - what value can they bring if they don't have real world experience?
The man was a real shooter. National champion in Skeet and set two world records in skeet. In World War II he was an instructor in the US Navy in Aerial Gunnery. He was elected to the National Skeet Shooting Hall of Fame. He knew his stuff. Not like today’s quasi tough, cream puffs. Robert Stack. A real man.
So, that’s how they bend and trash all the wheels on there shopping carts

I have been unsuccessful in finding somebody that has experience in production - that is willing to take on the headaches of being a manager. (My job.) It’s true that the main job is keeping folks employed and actually working - while still keeping the company solvent If not making money. I’m approaching retirement age, but don’t really want to screw the owner or the other employees by simply picking a date and walking out the door. But it might end up that way. Nobody wants to accept the responsibilities or is interested in doing any more than punching the clock. And hiring a manager from outside to walk in the door and start would immediately breed contempt from the employees. The owners son didn’t work out because he wasn’t interested in coming to work on time or even every day. LOLThe manager is the one who doesn't understand where the revenue stream comes from. As an hourly supervisor, I carry a phone 24/7, but because workers get longer shifts they surpass the 10% pay bump I get. They also get designated block time off while I get every other weekend-ish. I oversee 10-30 workers for 5 different clients on one site plus whoever else calls. WTF would I want a management role? Just more hassle. Past $200K here in Canada the tax rate is stupid. Managers who don’t have ownership positions are getting screwed while making $$$ for the owner. Better off being a drone most days. My failing is that I get bored. I still wouldn't buy it if it was priced $ 1.98 less.
Story time:
Pickups with shit piled up in the back or not, boats on trailers and tractor trailers are a danger zone when on a bike. I've had a dump truck tire let go in front of me. Highway gators are the best.Story time:
You ever had a feeling that something bad is about to happen......
I was on my motorcycle going home from work. It had rained early that morning, but it had quit and the streets started to dry out. I come around the turn and in front of me is a truck pulling a hay trailer. One of these guys.

One bail did not look quite right. Now round bails are real heavy, and wet round bails weigh a fooking ton. Something told me to back way off. Road is real curvy so I can't pass...double yellow. Hay is blowing off the bails, and it can find the only exposed skin, my neck and they kinda hurts.
I am a ways back cars behind me get pissy and pass me, about 30 sec later off with the bail. Car slams on the brake but boink into the bail. A bail that has been done with a good bailer is hard as a brick. The trailer did not stop...guess he never knew. I stop still all the motorcycle gear on, get my cell phone and make a call. About this time Mrs. Idiot comes out and I know that look. Quickly I take off the helmet and unzip my jacket, I am still wearing a shoot me first shirt and she freezes. Move out of the road mam, in front of the hay bail, I am on the phone with the office. She does what she is told, and the troops show up in short order, I am under 5min from the office just outside of town. Car is leaking, Anyone else in the car......no......excuse me I did not hear you.....NO, ok you hurt, NO. OK.
Got home a bit late that day, and Mrs. Idiot learned a thing or two about farm equipment.
