Garmin Foretrex 701 help - "UNABLE TO UNLOCK APPLIED BALLISTICS"

Bought a Garmin 701 and it seems to work fine, except for the actual thing I bought it for...

Whenever I boot it up or go to the Applied Ballistics page, I get a message saying "UNABLE TO UNLOCK APPLIED BALLISTICS" and the only option is to press OK. If I enter data, no solutions are calculated. I've got an email into Garmin but it'll be days before they get back to me. Anyone else seen this before? Thinking I might just exchange the unit but if it's a simple fix I'd rather not go through the hassle.

Does Garmin have a phone tech support number listed? They do, just looked it up, 1-888-442-7646.

You may be able to get assistance by calling them quicker than via email.

Try resetting the device by holding power button down for at least 10 seconds . If that doesn’t work ,
contact the seller for a replacement unit . My unit worked like a champ straight out of the box .

Glad you got it sorted , the 701 is fast becoming my primary solver . Once you get your profiles set
up I think you are going to like it .
