Been wanting one, and instead of getting a precision rig, I'm going to spend my money on a desert eagle I think

what do you guys think about this deal? Talked to the guy and still available, almost sounds too good to be true...

$1300
<ul style="list-style-type: disc">[*]US made black Desert Eagle .50AE (He thinks it's a '95)[*]200 rounds of speer ammo [*]500 brass [*]2 magazines[*]Dillon dies[/list]

edit - Apparently it has around 2000 rounds, and it needs to be cleaned often to cycle properly. He also said it burns alot of powder with each shot. whatever that means...

need or want? because I sure as hell don't need!

I can't wait to carry this thing and have someone go.

"why the hell do you carry a .50 cal?"
me - "because they don't make a .51 cal"

I'm curious if 2000 is a high round count. the guy said it needs to be cleaned often to cycle properly, and it burns alot of powder after each shot. (whatever that means) I have a feeling he has been using wrong powder maybe?

Buds has them new for 1318 shipped. which is great, but this comes with enough ammo to last me a whole year and enough brass to last me a lifetime. I probably won't shoot more than 20 rounds per trip the deagle takes. Let friends shoot 3-5 rounds, and I'll shoot 10 or so and call it a day.

I would advise that you shoot a DE .50 before buying. I had one. I paid $1000 for a nickel version with less than 50 rounds through it (so I was told).
While the gun was too much, I was only limited to shooting the amount of ammo that I could afford. After buying a few boxes of .50AE, I considered getting into reloading.
In the end, it just wasn't worth the cost and the added effort to clean the thing. I never had a problem/malfunction with mine. His comment about reliability would concern me.

What model is it? Is it a XIX? Those tend to bring in more cash than the older models.

When I was looking at them the thing I kept reading was they are hard on springs. I have never seen a manual so I do not know if they state in it a replacement schedule. My Kimber 1911 has a schedule to follow for springs.

The best review I read was "I have no problems what so ever with mine as long as I change springs every 500rds." He was also shooting a 44mag.
