For all of you Kentucky residents. Governor Beshear signed 2 very important laws into effect yesterday. Please note that they do not take effect until July 11 since there was no emergency clause attached to either of them.

The first is HB 484 allowing Kentucky landowners and private business owners to carry concealed deadly weapons on their property without fear of being detained or arrested for not having a CCDW permit.

Secondly, HB 500 which basically states that cities within the Commonwealth cannot pass firearms restrictions laws that are more restrictive than the current federal and state level regulations.

That's the one that TN needs to adopt! They leave it up to the cities if you can carry in their parks and such. I live in Memphis and the chitty of Memphis decided that you are not allowed to carry a defensive weapon on city owned properties, whereas the state of TN decided that it is permissible for those with a CHL to carry on state property, but left the cities the option to restrict. I know of 2 murder victims within the last year in one park and it's not even in a bad area or anything. My dog got attacked by a pitbull at that same park a couple months ago, I would have much rather shot the motherfucker than what I had to do and would have felt much safer after getting a threat from it's owner and his friends had I been carrying.

Good job Kentucky!

Going in the rite direction for sure. But we need federal laws to govern our 50 states pertaining to c.carry and firearms in general....
Too many different city/state/municipalies with different laws.
