Hate crime? You decide

Who cares if it was a hate crime or not

I care. A shitload of people who are pissed at double standards care. Hate crimes against whites are hardly ever identified, let alone prosecuted.

Did that piece of shit push that woman because he's black and she's white? I sure would like to find out, and I bet I can make him talk given 10 minutes alone with him.

Hate crimes are mainly for white civilians by design. Getting shot for shoplifting is for everybody else. The system isn't perfect but works okay.

I guess I should re-state that. I do care and I do see the double standard you are referencing. I was just trying to point out something that was good and heroic that came out of a bad situation.

Moving Africans Rapidly Thru Atlanta.
Lots of folks standing around not helping.

The first time I was ever in Atlanta was on business. Flight had been delayed, had a big appointment, traffic was too bad to get there in time and hopped on Marta not knowing with a suit on and and a ton of high end electroncis. Good God. I've lived in some of the worst neighborhoods in New Orleans when I was younger and can float right through that stuff but I was not happy on that train ride. This was before cell phones, so when I linked up with my local colleague and told him what I had done he about fell over laughing and explained that acronym. He seemed surprised I hadnt gotten jumped.

What violent crimes are perpetrated out of love? Wasn't there already a mechanism in our laws that allowed for differentiated sentencing by a jury or judge based on the circumstances of a crime?

Hate crime laws were just another useless feel good batch of legislation that were neither necessary nor productive, and have dubious constitutionality at that.

Hate crime laws are garbage and racist. They basically create a protected class of citizens that says killing them is worse than killing whitey. It makes them feel special and entitled. How about this, murder is murder or a crime is a crime regardless of who did it or who the victim is. Until we stop classifying anything based on race we will never fix “racism” because the laws themselves are the problem.

From the story it seems pretty indescriminant which doesn't line up with "hate crime" very well but it does line up very well with attempted murder in my mind.

He will probably spend a few years in a mental institution...

and

I hate 'Hate Crime' laws. If you kill someone because you don't like their skin color or lifestyle, you are a murderer. Hate laws try to elevate the life lost of one, as more important than the life lost of another.

...It is because of the typical narrative that seems to be going on nowadays,, where a "certain faction" is almost always claiming "Black Lives Matter" as if that IS something.... that I am seriously thinking that us white folk should start retaliating in exactly the same format that THEY have started. We should maybe all start advertising in every venue, including bumper stickers, hats, sandwich boards, and even sky-writing:

"White Lives Matter More"

Let's see how well that goes over, considering it's overt implications, except the fact of the matter is that there simply are a higher number of a 'lighter skinned populace' here in North America. But 'they' want to control the narrative, and force their perverted thinking upon the masses, in what they see as 'their favor'. We should use that same logic AND method, to stand up for Reason, Logic, Reality, and Humanity.

Think about it. Nothing I'm saying is racist, (Racist?)... it's just demographics and fact. We are all humans, to begin with. It is the actions of the individual that determines their worthiness and viability to society. My opinion, this perpetrator (above) should be gone after for not just attempted murder, but due to doing this to a number of people at the subway, he should be charged with multiple/serial (whatever) attempted murder charges. Time to start be 'less tolerant' anymore.

Uh, if I shoved someone in front of a 40mph 7000ton mass, it would done completely with the expectation of death. A case could be made it's premeditated, let alone attempted.

Atlanta is one of the worst fucking places I've ever been. It's probably worse than Memphis overall and I lived there when it was the murder capitol (in fact, I've been in pretty much every murder capitol in US in the 90's). You think being on MARTA with a shitload of electronics is bad, try installing a goddamn alarm system in the federal housing projects. Most times I've been shot at was because I was white and in a shitty ghetto (ironically trying to help their fucking grandmothers). Not a hate crime though.

Looked it up, turns out they've dozed all those projects in Memphis and replaced them with very nice looking townhouses. Problem is, the people didn't change. It's like smearing shit on a 10th century tapestry, it just doesn't make sense. Just because it doesn't look like a favela, doesn't mean it isn't one. IMO, that's actually dangerous because not being from Memphis, I was still pretty adept at determining the "red alarm" areas, but if they all look like Germantown it makes it a bit harder.

Basically, if you are in any metropolitan area in the south, and you don't see any moon faces around, you are in the ghetto. It's not racist, it's just a fact. BTDT.

Only time I ever carried more than a pistol as a civilian was when I had to fix alarms in Memphis. I had an Uzi in the toolbox. A few times I paid a guy to sit in my truck with an AK. He was supposed to be my wire rat but I had to repurpose him into a bodyguard. They usually quit the next day. I'm not making this shit up. Luckily they never opened an office in Atlanta.
