Pet peeve alert

Is it just me or the fact that everyone (including Brody himself) keeps referring to Brody as just Sergeant Brody when in fact he is a Gunnery Sergeant drive you up the wall? I mean, if you want to abbreviate it, use Gunny.

To my fellow marines, how do you think that would go over if you just decided to start calling E-7s in your unit the equivalent of E-5s?

And another thing, what's up with the squid haircuts on these marines. I mean hell, at least try to make the easy stuff authentic. Hair...ranks....thats easy to to do

You're willig to accept that a Marine will strap himself with explosives and kill the vice president and other chief of state, but his haircut is not acceptable?

I don't want to start something but we have had men in uniform kill fellow soldiers so to place a limit on what a man is capable of is a short argument. I do wish with that said that writers would get things right. I would have been more pissed about the scope being mounted in a LARUE mount and somehow hit its target. Everyone knows they don’t return zero. Plus no sniper would count on it. Happy First night of Hanukkah.

id be willing to accept the possibility that they can break someone's will and brainwash them over a 7+ year torturing cycle..but the haircut and sergeant thing...its over the top

I'm totally with you. Both those things drive me up the wall.

I'll give Hollywood and the entertainment industry some slack on more subtle things (like when the shooter was fucking with the diopter of his scope right before he was going to make his shot, as if he wouldn't have taken the time to make sure he'd done that sooner...I guess they were trying to simulate making some windage adjustments?)...but the haircuts and rank are pretty easy things to not screw up on.

I'm like a broken record, every time I hear someone call him by the incorrect rank or he turns around and I see how long his hair is near the collar...I have to comment...driving my wife insane.

I've even started limiting myself to just the times when people who should know better call him Sergeant...and it's still driving my better half nuts.

Ahh well...still really well acted and a fun show.

I finally just saw this show...just finished season 1 via Netflix. It drove me nuts too, seeing him wearing Gunny (E7) chevron's while in his Service Alphas, but being called Sergeant. Though, when he wore his dress blues, he did have SGT (E5) chevrons on! WTF indeed. I wanted him to get a haircut too....oh well. I won't even get into the retarded sniper shit. Looking forward to season 2 when it becomes available in August.

I have not seen this show but I know that drives me nuts I have even got my wife on it too I forget what movie it was that we watched the other day but I went insane.
