I must have missed it. What is the price for these rifles? Ballpark? Also, is there a YouTube video or anything on how to change barrels?

My gut tells me there should be purchase order for sentinel stocks asap.

I have been trying to stay away from this thread. But I have given in...

I want one! Or two!!

If Theis posted half of the current projects being worked on and a few of their phase conclusions, I’m worried that Hoplite would break the internet with the amount of traffic it would cause.

Hi,

I will be glad when we finish some tweaks on the T&E rifles so other people can post in this thread, lolol.

That will let me get focused on:
Phalanx system
Big bore dangerous game lever action
Baby as in 223 size rifle system
**Redacted** system
**Redacted** program
**Redacted** augmented **redacted** system

LMAO, but not...

Sincerely,
Theis

Hi,

BUT...today shall be fun, lol....Our insurance company is sending a "security specialist" out to inspect and consult on our security system, protocols and procedures.......

RANDOM EDIT TO ADD:
If anyone here is looking to get into the AR manufacturing business, let me know. I have some things (Pallet full of the tooling and fixtures, among lots of other shit) that I do not need.

Sincerely,
Theis

This Please. The M-27 Plasma Phased Pulse Rifle in the 40 watt range can wait until Fiscal Year 2021.

Hi,

So we got a lot of questions/comments in regards to why we designed and basically built the receiver system around our OEM version of the Timney Howa 1500 style trigger and such.

Bottom line (Short version):
1. They work great for the intended application of our weapon systems.
2. Fool proof (no pins and shit) installation
3. Adjustable from 1.2 - 4 pounds.
4. They are SAFE.

Edited To Add:
The next video may not be for the squeamish stomach types or the delicate to stuff types lolol....same impact but on muzzle.

Sincerely,
Theis

Hi,

Ok guys, so we are damn near 1 month post Shot Show and I figured I would take a moment to provide an "Official" update as to where we are at in regards to weapon systems and what is going on.

So in keeping in step with Hoplite Arms philosophy of transparency and dedication to the customer journey; here goes.

As you all can probably figure out pretty fast....we have not sent out any of the independent T&E rifles yet (YES I know it has been almost 1 month) but being honest....we have had/having to redesign a couple things such as:

1. We decided to turn down the OD of our bolt body by 2 thou so that it "feels" a little smoother in the initial bolt cycle when opening and the final bolt cam when closing.
2. We decided to design individual extractors instead of utilizing the same extractor for both receiver sizes. This lets us keep the headspacing tolerances in check and under control.
3. We are still troubleshooting the flex issue of the handguard design. Looks like we are going to end up adding a stiffener ring on each end. Will update that as it happens.
4. We decided to design a "thumb" tab that comes off bottom of the magazine release so that those that like to grip and rip magazines can more easily do so.
5. Once we got into the Sentinel inletting we quickly realized that we definitely need to design an internal chassis to facilitate ease of production when using the Sentinel.

On the bright side..
IMO these delays highlight just how correct our business philosophy was/has been from the very beginning because I get to sit here and type what is essentially a reason for delay update knowing we have not taken any customers money. We are not forced to put the rifles into the customers hands without making the changes first just to meet the delivery deadline, we get to make the changes without affecting the customer directly.

Also---FWIW Hoplite Arms is partnering with Patagonia Ballistics to form a new company all together....Genesis Ballistics (Will update that in its' own thread soon :))

Sincerely,
Theis and the entire Hoplite Arms companies.

Hi,

So....in regards to chassis buttstock designs.....

Folder (reversible to R or L)
Retractable (ie Sage M1A)

Everything else being same....
LOP
LOP adjustments
Cheek Piece height
Cheek Piece adjustments, etc
Recoil Pad cant adjustments, etc

Which one liked more?

Sincerely,
Theis

I like retractable better, IF it can be as short as folding, (or at least almost).

The only thing that may make a difference is which one lets you remove the bolt easier?

I like a folder that goes over the bolt when folded (can’t be done with the Magpul). How expensive would a protype with the sage like retractable be? I love the Magpul, but the long LOP will always be it’s biggest detriment

Hi,

The LOP with the Magpul is what is driving this conversation right now!!

I should have more on the folder/retractable direction(s) Tuesday.

PM Sent

Sincerely,
Theis

Right side folder for me.

Edit to add: Going with the sentinel, so take my feedback with that in mind. :D

Did I miss the new patagonia/hoplite thread?

Hi,

Have not missed it...waiting on company logo finalization and website landing page.

Definitely right side folder preference here. It just makes the rifle more compact when folded that way, rather than folding on the left side and still having the bolt handle sticking out on the right.

Just a question for the bolt side..side folder guys.

Example...if the function/strength/accuracy etc is equal why would you guys vote for folder rather than a retractable?

And vice versa for the retractable guys.

I would think the retractable would be a smaller package because the width stays the same.

Thanks

6 in 1 half dozen in the other really. The key to a good folder is the strength of the mechanism when locked. I like folders because they are faster to deploy since they are always set to your LOP. But your point with the retractable stock is valid in reference to width.

All else being equal, folding or retractable wouldn't matter to me as long as you could clean from the breech without changing the settings of the cheekpiece and buttplate.
