Looks to me like they're just filling POO-LICE slots everywhere these days with warm body's, very large fat ass warm body's. Keep lowering the standards as a few more points lower an hood rats will qual.
Reading a great book right now.
Kind of small, almost a pamphlet.
Its about the events of April 19, 1775.
A lot of detail of the moment not ever really discussed. Anecdotes, details of conditions for the British on the march as well as mindset of the responding militia.
As always "Murphys Law" plays a bigger role than say planning or intent.
Last night I read a paragraph that struck me as something this board would appreciate and perhaps you
@Gunfighter14e2 in particular.
At the time of the Coercive Acts it was thought Massachusetts could call out 90,000 militia to confront Britain in the moment and 30,000 could be put in longer service without affecting food production for the colony.
I doubt there are 10,000 now in state that could survive a night outside in April.
Prior to any open hostilities Dr. Warren of Sons of Liberty fame asked Israel Putnam, a crusty old Yankee that had fought a bunch for the British what he thought the militia was capable of.
Warren was interested to know how many men Putnam would need to take on 1000 British service troops.
Putnam acknowledged that the British are the finest infantry in the world but with half as many men he would "line the stone walls with British dead".
He wouldnt fight them to stop their march but he would decimate them on retreat. On advance the militia would fall back into their reserve while the British would have to advance away from strength to be cut down piece meal.
It was a great paragraph Ill have to make a post and quote in full not from my memory.
I bought the book at the National Park center at the Minuteman National Park in Lexington. I think the booklet was $7.00. Im only a chapter or two into it and getting lots of detail I wasnt heretofore aware of.
