These are the three scopes that I have been thinking about, distances about 600 to 800 yards, its a 308, so I am not really planning on going any further. Opinions, thoughts, obviously price difference, is across the board and may become an issue. Thanks for any opinions and advice, SWFa $312, IOR $700, MK4 1200?

I have both an IOR and a SS, if you can afford it the IOR is a better scope IMHO. That said, the SS's are pretty damn hard to beat at the price you pay for them.

caveat: I'm not new to shooting, but new to precision shooting so take anything I say with a grain of salt.

The SS is a great value with a fine track record. The Mk4 is a fine scope, but over-priced. The IOR 16x42 has been a fantastic scope for us, steel tube, awesome glass, rugged and repeatable, lots of travel, and the original MP-8 reticle. I'd recommend that one.

Having used all 3, the IOR has BY FAR the clearest glass and is the best value. The SS is not even close, the Mk 4 is overpriced and the glass is ok, at best.
