<span style="font-size: 17pt"><span style="font-weight: bold">***NEW MATCH EDITION TO 2012***</span></span>

There's a new match and target in town called.... <span style="font-weight: bold">"Lucky 7"</span>.

To those that would like a more "tactical" target or use in addition to the standard bullseye type targets for 100 and 200 yards (will develop a 300 yard target if desired) the Lucky 7 matches and targets were developed. It is an outline of an average adult head with different scoring rings as your hits print outward of the "sweet spot". As an added training bonus, it ranges well on 10X magnification scope using mildots or whatever your favorite reticle may be.

The eyes and scoring rings are lighter than the outline:

1. Hits are better spotted at distance.
2. Eyes are dark enough to be seen on 9X at distance to be used as a reference point.
3. Scoring rings are barely noticable through an optic, so as to better distinguish shot placement - you don't know your score until close up, allowing a less static target and judgement of the "sweet spot".

COF is 25 rounds at this time, unless there is a majority opinion to lessen round count to 10. We'll give it a few months to decide.

How to post scores are in "the rules" link and targets are available in the "printable targets" link.

It's been several weeks since I've been slung up and since the ducks are not flying, I hit the range today for a quick round @200. Ten sighters and 25 for score. I was pumped to see that my form wasn't completly gone. I did feel really loose though. A guy on the line, behind me,took a pic whilst shooting the target you now see. Not trying to sound vain but I thought it was cool to see myself"In The Zone" I've never seen myself shoot.
Cheers and Happy New Year

Re: JANUARY 2012 SH 100 to 300 YD RIMFIRE COMPETITIONS

TOP PREDATOR: i think your score should be 246, great shooting either way.
i was on the range this past Friday with my cm-2, it was windy(10-12mph) and i got a score of 232(4x), too low to post really, will try to do better than that.

Re: JANUARY 2012 SH 100 to 300 YD RIMFIRE COMPETITIONS

i thought it was 246 at first, but that one at 4:00, at the edge of the line was "questionable" at the 10 line, so i i went with the lesser score.

thanks though.

Re: JANUARY 2012 SH 100 to 300 YD RIMFIRE COMPETITIONS

100 Yard
TQ4 target, shooting off table, front bi pod, rear shoulder
Rifle is Russian CM-2
scope 6-24x50 konus
one wind flag at 85 yardish
Ammo is Fiocchi SV Shooting Dynamics
about 6 cents a round
Wind is 12-14 MPH and switching
Temp 36F feel like 26F lol
score is 234 4x
I know the score sucks, but i am very happy and proud with it, i have never shoot .22lr at such harsh condition at 100 yard line.
I was aiming at 4:00, 6:00 and 8:00 at the 9 ring white line. The wind not only blow strong and never stay in one direction for more than 4 or 5 seconds. As you see most of the impact points are at least 2.25 inches away from the aiming points. see the round at 10:00 on the 8 ring, i shoot that on a rare dead calm( last about 2-3 seconds, only one i saw), aiming dead center on the X, then i remembered, you never shoot on the dead calm on a windy day. Too late, it proves, it is the nut behind the trigger that counts.

AMMO: Remington subsonic HP
SCORE: 221-9X (2 rounds I could not account for, either I missed completely, or they were in existing holes and I can't tell)

weather: cloudy, 32 degrees F, barometric pressure at time of shooting 30.11, humidity 93%, wind was light-not sure how much.

IMG_2924-1.jpg

Well, this was my first time trying this. I took my Bushnell 10x40 scope off of my .308 and put it on my 10/22 to see what kinda results I could get. Not too happy with it, but I decided to submit it, maybe it will be beneficial to my shooting skills in the future. I cranked up the elevation ALL the way to try to get a 100yd zero with the subsonics, and still had to hold way high. I held in the middle of the 9 ring at the base of where the mildots stop, so I couldn't even see the bull's eye. I'm considering an elevated scope base! lol. Since this is my first time, please correct me if I listed something wrong!

Re: JANUARY 2012 SH 100 to 300 YD RIMFIRE COMPETITIONS

Sig: that is great result with a 10x scope, i would call it 241 11x. the way all the other holes are placed, there is no way you missed the target completely.

January of 2012 brought a new shooter, welcome to SIG_EQUINOX. HEYDOGMAN came close to a perfect score @100 with his .17, and BERGA still remains a consistant high scorer at long distances - using a sling.

The month of February brings day of groundhogs, a day of love, and a day for Presidents - throw in an "extra day" and you have the makings of an interesting months, looking forward to seeing some interesting shooting.
