kestrel 4500 not working

Dose anyone know if there is a reset or similar function with the kestrel 4500. The unit wont turn on 90% of the time but when it dose none of the buttons work, and is locked up.

If anyone knows of a possible fix I'm all ears, I'm not looking forward to buying one here in Australia, another $700

I bought it on eBay from the US (saved $400) so I'm not about warranties, i know Australia kestrel wont cover the warranty

They wont cover it under warranty?

So who will then? And what does the origin of the seller have to do with them repairing a shoddy product?

Would Kestrel in the US cover it?

kestrel Australia said they are not covered if bought out side of Australia, "that's why they are so expensive in Australia"

I'm still looking into if i can get a warranty though US kestrel

Yeh they shouldnt be able to knock you back... makes no sense.

Like, whats the difference if it was posted to you or you purchased it whilst on holiday in the states. Either way, its their product that has faulted and needs a warranty service.

I could understand if they ask you to pay for postage, but knocking back a warranty is out of the question.

Thats like basically saying their products are void from warranty if you dont conform to purchasing from local distributors.
