A middle school student in Illinois was forced by a teacher to remove his Marines t-shirt because it was too offensive. The student complied and the teacher, still reported him to the principal. Maybe we should report the teacher to the principal for being an anti-American, commie pig!

Today a Genoa-Kingston Middle School student’s parent is claiming that a teacher ordered his son to cover his US Marine themed t-shirt or be suspended. Dan McIntyre says that his son Michael has wore the shirt to school many times in the past and that he is a big fan of the branch of the US military.

Dan McIntyre says that, “A teacher noticed the guns on the shirt.” He went on to say that the teacher said there was a school policy against the image of a gun.

Michael complied when the teacher asked him to turn the shirt inside out. However, Dan says that his son was still reported to the schools principal.

Dan says that his son, “was really bothered by it. He talked to me after school about it. I said I would have supported whatever decision he made.”

*update Dan McIntyre has provided a copy of the dress code portion of the student handbook. Part of which states that students clothing cannot promote “violent behavior” which is the only vague rationale that could be used for having Michael cover his Marine shirt.

Yeah Facebook has gone ballistic over this in our small town. I went to this school district for most of my life and this is ridiculous. Can't really say I'm surprised though. This stuff has been going on for years. I know this kid's family and I'll try to get more on this.

Her husband is a decent guy, Republican County Board member for my county and really involved with agriculture. My grandfather still farms so he interacts with Russ quite a bit. I went to school with their 3 boys. They are a good farming family, it just proves poor judgement has massive repercussions in the internet age. I have a feeling he went apeshit when he found out his dumbass wife drug their family into this. Google search Karen Deverell and this story is 5th down on the list. My wife and I had a big talk about this tonight because she is a teacher.

I think this whole situation is ridiculous from both sides. I know for a fact that the teacher is an ignorant wench. I also think it's pretty crazy to call Fox News directly without having a good conversation with the school administrators. If shit went south after that, then it's time to make this national news. One thing this shows to the general public and to administrators is that the military people and gun people will not take any shit over this stuff. They can't backpedal fast enough and they threw her right under the bus immediately.
