MINIMUM BARREL LENGTHS, SUREFIRE SILENCERS

I recently got off the phone with SureFire regarding minimum barrel lengths for the SOCOM556-RC and SOCOM762-RC (the very first iteration) in the context of 5.56x45mm and 7.62x51mm usage.

They say that one could go as short as 10” and 14” for each, respectively - and though they didn’t state so in black and white, they implied that their main concern was more of bullet stability than pressures generated in the first few blast chambers (“…the cans can take the pressure.”)

I just wanted to hear if you’ve been told similar…

No firsthand info, but I think they’d be totally fine. They’re tough cans. And I’ve never heard of a 10 incher not stabilizing…maybe some odd 1:9 or 1:12 with 77s? I wouldn’t worry about it.
