Im just on the other side of the creek. I shoot at Arnold rifle and pistol. Only 100 yard range. But they have electric trap, skeet, pistol pits, cowboy. archery walk through, air rifle, 22 rifle range, and shotgun paterning. Great range to shoot at and a lot of great guys. Benchrest is a little far for me to join and drive to. I have a friend who has some property and wants to put in a couple benches and range 300 and 600 yard. We are talking about building them this spring. He wants to get some dirt piles up for back stop.

Re: Missouri shooters

Stefan73 and I are headed down on Saturday. I'm doing the rimfire benchrest, and the rimfire tactical on saturday, Stefan and I both are doing the Sniper match, and Stefan's doing the 2 gun as well. Lot of shooting this weekend. Looking forward to it, and hoping for good weather.

Re: Missouri shooters

I will be there both Saturday and Sunday, but I'm also the "range staff" too. Red Beans and Rice again Sunday! Wheelchair man, we still have your Igloo Cooler there from the last time you was down so hopefully this will remind you. See you at the range.

Re: Missouri shooters

Viper 225 and myself will be out at the range for the next couple of days. We have Benchrest matches and the rimfire sniper match today and tommorow is the Long Range Tactical Match and the Rifle/Pistol 2-gun match. Accuweather says it is supposed to get in the 50's today and tommorow is to reach the 70's with spotty rain. Doesn't hurt to have wet weather gear anyway. We will have Red Beans and Rice Sunday for after the Long Range Tactical Match, free to anyone. And Tinman has pickup the new T-shirts and they are at BPSC clubhouse. They look great. See you out at the range

haha I forgot all about that! Just counted my ammo for the match and I came up with 41. I'm good to go but will have to spend time with my dillon before the next one!

Re: Missouri shooters

How is the big piney match? I am thinking about a road trip to see how it is. When is the next match.

As seen by the scores, we had some very good runs today. We had three targets that shooters seemed to bypass a lot. It wasn't bad shooting, but running past those targets that accounted for all the higher scores.

Our next long range rifle and 2-gun match is 27 March.

Re: Missouri shooters

Man a 188 was a crappy score for me. Great day for shooting but man was I rusty. Had 8 shots just outside of the head zone and on the 500 yard I thought I had forgotten to reset to zero well turns out I did.... so when I went from 12 MOA to 16 MOA I was really going from 0 to 4. Needless to say I had no 600 yard hits.

All in all great shoot as always and got to chat with several guys off here.

Re: Missouri shooters

Man, if only I hadn't put those 3 shots just on top of the 20pt zone on the head at 400 yards! That would have put me only 1 point out of 2nd. If I would have been gutsy, and shot all 5 instead of 3 in the head at 300, and not jacked up at 400, I would have been in second for sure. Oh well, next time!

Wheelchairman, it was nice to meet you, the mistake with the turrets happens, we just have to remember to learn from out boo boos.

Re: Missouri shooters

I can't believe my brother beat me with his 221 fireball. His groups fall apart at 600 yards and he hasn't cleaned his rifle for at least the past 4 mathces. He can't even see that good either! Guess that is what I get for letting him score the targets HUNH!

Re: Missouri shooters

Sorry for digging up an old thread but I'll be moving to st. Joseph in a couple months. I'm from central Iowa and have had the privilege of a friend with a lot of land to shoot. I love medium to long distance shooting and am a little worried I may not have that opportunity after I move. I'd love to meet up with some of you all and keep from getting too rusty!

Re: Missouri shooters

Hey brother, the Stockton range is a privately owned thing. As of now, no comps or usage, they only use it for classes. I think the name is Bear Creek Tactical...or something like that.

Re: Missouri shooters

Down by worlds of fun. I was in platte city saturday morning shooting, doing some load testing.

I wouldn't mind getting a house up in that area in a few years, but our girls go to private schools, and that would be a long way to drive them to school.

I hear ya. Schools here blow. But I dont want to live in city. I have to be a country boy!
Where were you at shooting?

Re: Missouri shooters

One of the GA smiths lives in that AO and has a private range on his property. My place has 1200 yards, but it's too muddy with all this rain. I really only needed 400 so I went out there.

Re: Missouri shooters

Anybody near the STL area with an AICS chassis I can sit behind for feel? Debating on a stock for a 338LM build. PM me if you've got one. Thanks!

Re: Missouri shooters

My fellow Missourians, does anyone know where I can try out an AICS 2.0? I really would like to get one, but after hearing the love/hate relationship alot of folks talk about, it would be nice to see one in real life before making a commitment. I am in the Springfield area, but don't mind driving a little bit to see one. Thanks guys.

Re: Missouri shooters

As of 20 June, as Ozzy says, mama i'm coming home

so if anyone wants to get together, I will be in SGF/Willard area

I'm not to far from Missouri, over in Lenexa, KS.

Re: Missouri shooters

I'm near the St. Louis area, and live about fifteen minutes from Benchrest rifle club. I'm new to this discipline of shooting, but get out and practice almost every Sunday. I'm more than happy to go shoot with anyone who wants to.

Re: Missouri shooters

Hey rbdub474, I'm also a member of benchrest. I normally shoot on saturdays when i am home. been shooting at the 300 mostly lately as less people and hassle. the benchresters wonder about the guys too lazy to sit up to shoot. My son and I just got into this and looking to start gearing up. got rifles and that. now that matches are slowing down want to start working the 600 range and got 2 boys so one can run pits and both 600 flagged.then want to see if can sweet talk scott about the 1k. drop me a pm some time.

Re: Missouri shooters

Range is in Hale ,MO. Police chief is my Dads buddy from active duty. I'll have to ask my Dad and see but I'm pretty sure he still runs the range.

Re: Missouri shooters

Hey Tacticular! I live about 15 min. North of Whiteman. Hunting public ground around here is at best, dangerous. Finding private ground where people will give you permission to hunt is hard unless your from here. It's a who you know thing I guess. There is a state park right off base but it only holds managed hunts and you have to win a drawing. A little further north is a public range out to 100. Not a lot of long rangers here so would love the company! I was born on whiteman. Moved back after the army and been here ever since. Pm if you got anymore questions. As far as long ranges go I really don't have any info. I live on a 2000 acre farm so I never needed to find somewhere to shoot. Sorry

I live in the St. Louis suburbs (west county). I'm a member at ARPC, but I'd like to find somewhere to shoot farther than 100yds. I'd also like to know if anyone has a good place for coyote hunting. The conservation areas around me are shotgun-only for squirrels and coyotes, but I believe you can hunt coyotes with rifles on private property.

I'm going to do what I can to come to the June Tactical match. Not sure what rifle i'll shoot. Seriously thinking hard about shooting the 16" .308. Haven't shot .308 in a while.

Brandon, I got a chance to proof a couple of the stages for this match. It will be a blast. Your 308 should be the ticket, as long as you have good drop data for your round.

The round count should be less than 60 rounds for this.

Sean

Anyone shooting at the new range in Joplin? Long range is 650 it's a pretty nice place. Ammu-Nation is the name owned by Rick Duley.

What type of shooting are you looking for? There's one of the better HP ranges in the Midwest located in Marshall, just north of Sedalia, a bit more than an hour east of KC. State HP Championships are held there every year, and a Fall Long Range coming up next month. 200-600 yards with pits, and a SB firing line to 100 yards.

It's a private (membership) range, but the matches are open to the public.

Are they accepting new members? I'm looking for some recreational shooting for my 308. I'd like to stretch it legs beyond 100-200 but I'm not ready for matches.
