We charted this ground almost 5 years ago. The problem is the Mars rail is meant for an M700 yet were installing it on a Stiller MK13 action. One has a constant dia action where's the other does not. The hole locations on the rear bridge feature of the base are also in a different position. Next, the roll pin installed in the base has to go away. After that the base must also be drilled for the pair of dowel pins installed in the receiver. Last, the Stiller actions have an RF ID tag that is probably worth more than the action itself in terms of novelty and intrinsic value. The base as delivered would ruin it.
To do:
To do:
- Plug existing base hole and machine plug to match STENAG rail features
- Relocate base hole
- Drill pair of holes for dowel pins
- Clearance for RF ID tag
- Surface bottom of base for receiver contour
- Clearance ejection port features
- Edge prep ejection port features so the shooter doesn't get chewed up. This thing could host its own Blood Drive.
- Sterilize and surface prep for coating
- Ceracote in Graphite Black
- Final Assembly
