Don’t blowers and nitrous technically replace displacement? I can have a smaller engine that acts like a larger displacement engine without changing the stroke/bore size of the cylinder.

So if you apply 15psi of boost to a 1-liter engine - it acts like a 2-liter engine.
Apply that same number of boost to a 5-liter engine and it acts like a 10-liter engine.
So applying the same technology to a larger engine gets you the same increases in power.

The displacement is replaced with technology.
That technology is certainly an improvement....
And in modern vehicles - manufacturers have been able to replace prior displacement with technology to gain performance and efficiency with a smaller displacement to perform more work. Applying that tech to bigger stuff is fun too.
No they don't replace displacement. A 200 cubic inch ricer on 25 pounds of boost is nothing compared to a 500 inch V8 on 25 pounds of boost. Those ricers also do not produce any where near the torque a big inch V8 does. The upside to running a ricer is weight of the drive train, smaller tires so less rotating mass and usually the ricer cars are shit boxes weighing about 1500 pounds. If those ricer engines were they way to go everyone from Pro Mod up would be running them instead of 500 inch Hemis.

No, what you do is take that large displacement from the 60's and 70's, apply some of the new tech - then go start replacing broken transmission and rearend parts!

The only fight I saw (was not a party to) at The Warehouse, in Red Hook, St. Thomas in around 1998, was when Chris Hays told Scotty the bartender that where he lived they used dogs to run/drive deer during deer season. I don't know where Chris was from, but Scotty was from Michigan, and they don't use dogs to hunt deer there. From that comment it escalated quickly to shouting and name calling across the bar. The whole place went quite except the two guys shouting at each other and Maria blasting over them both. Suddenly Scotty exploded over the bar, grabbed Chris by his t-shirt and they both started throwing haymakers at each other. Scotty was always the peacekeeper of the place, so we were all just kind of staring with our mouths open at they commenced to whup each other's asses...

Even top fuel replaces displacement with higher RPMs, forced air, and more fuel huge valves and other technology. If displacement couldn’t be replaced they'd have to build engines with 5 gallon bucket sized pistons.

Nothing in an evacuation order says you have to take your cars with you. Nothing in any auto insurance policy excludes storm damage from the comprehensive coverage. The house might not be covered but the cars will be and those two cars are worth more than a lot of houses.
We would take light arrows with no tip and barely draw back shooting them straight up and everyone had to stand still and see where it landed.

Most of those cars are a dime a dozen anyway. Guy by me has a green AMG GT /GTS black series or whatever the highest end one is called, it’s sweet.
