We've just finished up our prototype new AI spigot pic rail. I think it turned out great, and the rail locks up like a tank!

The rod is pre heat treated steel and is machined on a CNC Lathe. The Rail is 7075 aluminum which is considerably tougher than 6061, and is also poduced on a CNC. We are putting a few finishing touches on them, like putting a slight chamfer on a couple of corners, but testing is going as expected. The prototype was coated with KG gunkote but the final products will all be mil-spec black anodized. We are thinking of having an option for KG Coating them either in FDE or OD Green as well for a small increase in cost.

Let me know what you think!

Re: New AI Spigot Rail

I am considering doing a Group buy on them for $119.00 +/- shipped. We are waiting on a quote to come back for a couple of new cutters that will make life easier. We think we know where the cost will fall but just in case, we have not finalized the numbers.

We will also offer them in conjunction with our thumbscrews. The thumbscrews would be $24.99 when purchased with one of our rails.

Re: New AI Spigot Rail

Yes, this could be something I'd be interested in. My thought however is this. How much movement does it have? That is, when you insert it into the chassis, is it rock solid, or is there a little movement?

Re: New AI Spigot Rail

Radar - There is no movement, it is as solid as the chassis is.

Lowlight - We can get you one to review if you would like to. We talked about adding a sling swivel stud earlier this week. We started the modification yesterday.

110len - Yes these will work with any bipod system that will attach to a mil-spec 1913 rail.

Re: New AI Spigot Rail

Just a suggestion on the swivel stud and I'm sure you already thought of it but a tapped hole would be easy and make the stud removable if not a desired feature by your customers. I've seen some bipod mounts where the stud is hard mounted and not removable, options are desirable!
