OK, I'm thinking about making a stock for my CZ452 - cuz I can't find anyone who makes one, and I think it'd be fun.

Questions -

What wood do you think would be best? Walnut? Other?

Ultimately, I plan to glass bed and paint / urethane / seal the outside of the stock. Ideas / suggestions?

Lastly, I like the Macmillan A2 profile. Would anyne be willing to trace the profile / outline of their A2? (I know, that's cheap of me, but if Macmillan made a stock I might buy it)

Thanx.

I can't find they make one for the 452.

Are you suggesting to mod one of the ones they have? </div></div>

They make them inletted for the CZ452 but there is a 8-12 week wait for that inlet since it is considered a special order inlet. I prefer the prone/ culbertson stock over the tactical anyway. http://www.rifle-stocks.com/proneculbertson.htm To me they look more appropriate since it will be a wood stock.

Re: New project - stock for CZ452

garand,

Please make sure you do some research on richard's microfit stocks. The general consensus has been favorable on materials, but very unfavorable on inletting work. Check on google and rimfirecentral.com. Also, take a look at Wenig for a stock...it cost about as much (a tad more) than Richards, but seems to come with a better product. I am in the same boat looking for a wood cz 452 stock. It has been a long search. Lastly, there is a guy on rimfire central named Don Stith (he has a website) that makes stocks for the cz and his reputation is golden with most people. Happy searching...

McMillan makes a stock for the CZ452 - Rimfire Magnum Varmint. Not completely like their tactical line, but closer than the silhoutte stock they had previously offered.

You can modify most rem 700 sa stocks. It takes some work, but it can be done. Here's mine. Its a Bell&Carlson light tactical stock.
