I bought this M98K from a gunshop. This is a "matching nr" BYF 43 converted in the 50'ies to 30-06 by Kongsberg Arms factory. The rifle got a new hi quality barrel, Bofors steel, and a new mismatched bolt. The action, new bolt and new barrel are "matching nr" with the new serial nr given by KAF.

This rifle seems unfired after the conversion and testfireing at KAF. Barrel looks brand new. Mausers are cheap in Norway. It cost $150.

I plan to put a Accumount hi turret and a Kahles ZF69 on it.

you should look for a old mauser trench sniper rifle with the elevated trigger sight not sure what they are called but they allowed the gun to be fired from cover without having to put your head inline with target. the value of those modified sniper rifles is crazy you might have a good chance finding one in Norway.I have seen British and American versions but not a german one the gun would look really funny and would most likely come in old wooden box worth keeping your eye out for.
