Hi guys,

I own an AIAW 243W 1/8 26" (AI special order)
For three years, I reload and use this configuration with success :
105gr Scenrar, 243 lapua case, RWS5341 primer and 44gr N160
the speed is 990m/s

Sometimes, my primers are off the pin hole? (see pic)
two times, primers pierced.

Severals months ago, I read that the firing pin hole from AI could be too large? But impossible to find the article on the web?

Some helps will be appreciate

Almost every one of the few K rounds I have through my AIs look like the bottom left.

Doesn't even matter how hard I push them. No piercings yet.

It's a well known 'quirk' on AI's.

6.5mm Shootout: .260 Remington vs. 6.5x47 Lapua vs. 6.5 Creedmoor

"I also learned that the pressure limiter in the system would be piercing primers. The AI-AW is set up to be utterly reliable in harsh field conditions and ignite mil-spec 308 primers. In guns built from the ground up for a very high pressure cartridge, it's common to bush the firing pin hole and then control the pin protrusion. I wanted to leave this rifle at the military spec, not to mention that a replacement bolt head from AI in the UK would be very expensive, so I left it and lived with the results."
