Range Report Penetration of brass/bronze solids?

At the moment my only application where Iwould use them is with .50 bmg but I'd be interested in other calibers as well.

How do they stack up against a FMJ and an AP bullet on steel? I'm guessing they fall somewhere in the middle.

Just curious.

I have only used then out of a .338 and the ones I shot only penetrated about the same as a normal copper/lead cored bullet on the steel plate I shot.

They'll go through more stuff than a lead core/copper jacket bullet but are not armor piercing by any means. There was a really good article I read a couple of years ago that compared .408 cheytac armor piercing capabilities to those of .50 bmg and there was a section that talked about brass bullets and why they don't work for armor piercing. I thought it was on Cheytac's site but they have changed it since I was on there last and couldn't find it.
