I purchased this chronograph recently and I wanted to pass on what I have learned. This is my first chronograph, so by no means do I consider myself an authority.
After reading numerous reviews and searching the web on the subject of chronographs, it became abundantly clear that many chrono's are finicky, error prone and/or inconsistent. I had pretty much made up my mind to go with the CED M2, but by chance I came across an ad by Competitive Electronics for their ProChrono line. My interest was peaked when I learned they were only 40 miles from me. I search the web for more information, but I didn't find very much. At the same time I didn't find any bad reviews either. I figured that a chronograph with remote control, download and print capabilities for $150.00 bucks was worth a try. So I ordered the ProChrono Digital and the USB interface with software.
What I can tell you is that I took it out of the box and put a battery in it and shot over it. So far I shot my .22 Win Mag, .223 and .308 with it. No errors and no problems... it just works. I don't do anything special with regard to light or conditions, I just set it up an go.
I really like having a single cable running back to my laptop. The remote control is a nice convenient feature and it's no muss and no fuss. Software is basic, but it meets all my needs. If it keeps on ticking, it will be one of my best finds yet.
