I was mentally reviewing a thread I put up last week where I made myself look a little dumb, then jumped down the throats of some guys that mildly chided me over it.

In the spirit of keeping things going in a positive direction, I just wanted to offer a public apology to anybody engaged in that trainwreck. I'll keep a civil tone and won't take any issue if you offer constructive criticism when I slip up. Sorry for acting like an assclown!

There might be hope for you yet...

Re: Public apology

It doesn't take much for someone to behave like a jack@$$ on an internet forum sometimes. It happens, unfortunately, more frequently than it should.

That said, it takes a man to step up and admit when he's done wrong and try to move forward in a positive direction. Good on you.

Keep on keeping on, Bro!

Re: Public apology

Damn! I musta missed something good.
Just kidding. I don't know what you said but quite manly to take your lumps.

I never wear my heart/ego on my sleeve here. Some of these posts could really hurt some feelings without trying.

Re: Public apology

Wow. I've seen a lot, but I think this is a first. I have even seen public apologies before... but even those tend to make someone look like a bigger d-bag than before the apology. Concise and sincere... well-played, sir.

Mike, we don't need a link to the thread. I didn't see the thread no do I care to. Boltstop manned up and that is a hard thing to do for a lot of people. We will leave what happened in the past and look forward to helping him in the future.

Funny, this. I have an AK I have to get back from the gunsmith which I will put up for sale; this will fund the multiple scope purchase. I may take you up on your offer; your post in that thread (upon further examination) was a kind of off-topic reference to a different post from somebody else and I mistook it as an insult to me. Since it seemed (at the time) like everybody was in a competition to see how fast they could gang up on me, I thought you were piling on. Sorry!

Re: Public apology

Nicely done, Boltstop. I kinda had the feeling you were just having a bad day or something.

Now I gotta figure out some way to offend SWFA without really pissing them off so I can get the super secret discount.

SWFA is a stand up company and I will defend them to no end if needed be. About 4 years ago, I was pinching pennies and talking to a guy on the phone with SWFA about the sample list. My scope was busted and I couldn't afford a new one and my trade in wasn't worth anything. Out of his own generosity, he told me he would pull the scope we were discussing and he held it for me for two weeks. Still to this day I have that Burris and refuse to let it go.

I DO NOT know of another company that would do that knowing someone could come along with the cash for it 10 minutes later and straight up buy it.

Re: Public apology

...and just like that, all is forgotten. I wish others could follow your lead. As it is, I think you are clearly in the minority and should be quite proud of that. You did what your morals told you was right and you should be commended.

Welcome back.

You're right. When I point out anything goofy about my wife to her she just bears down and insists I'm worse because of something I made a mistake with before I met her, or because of my shoe size, or because the moon is made from anorthosite. I honestly can't recall a woman I've dated apologizing for anything she did.

Not to bash the fairer sex or anything! I just think modern American women don't feel like they ever have to say they're "sorry" about anything they've done wrong because they've been "kept down" by men.

Man, we've gone far afield here! </threadjack>

One woman I was dating was a true bitch, everything to her was "me, me, me". After we broke up, she sent me emails saying everything she could to bring me down. So one day I got fed up and just replied with a picture of an abused woman without saying anything, just the picture. She replied to the picture I sent with "you know 13% of all females are beaten and killed by men". I replied back to her with "if 13% of women would learn to keep their pie hole shut, maybe that figure would drop more". She started to tell me she was sorry and wanted to talk, I told her to go foad.

And I would never beat a woman, I just sent that picture to her for the reaction.
