PVA Status Updates: Hancock Rifle & NUCLEUS Barreled Action

I switched to the middle screws on the ARCA rail. Previously had the fron 2 inches difficult to move the clamp foward with

I don't think you're suppose to use the nuts. Use the oval shaped backplate with the threaded holes. it goes in the slots on the polymer handguard. sharp end of the the hole facing down.

although i agree there's still some resistance. originally, resistance started at ~2" before the front of the Arca rail. now that i use the middle mounted holes, it's now ~1" resistance @ the front and 1" resistance at the end (magazine end). I can live with this.

worse case you can try the ArcaLock from Area 419. Someone mentioned it's thicker, so possibly less flex?
When I said nut I meant the flat oval nuts. It made no difference for me. I’m going to return the KRG ARCA rail for a refund and try the area 419. It’s twice as thick.

Short action, right hand, 6.5 barrel & a bolt face for a .223. They have my ffl info, it was sent in October (if I remember correctly) when they requested it.

The email was a general email, not specific to my order ,saying if you were waiting on a barreled action get your ffl info in.
"
We are working on the next batch of 22 receivers that we have here now. If you are waiting on the Nucleus Barreled action please send us an email with your FFL information included to the address below.

Subject Line: "FFL for Order #xxxx"
Address: [email protected]

Please do not respond to this email as it's highly likely to get misplaced. The FFL information is fundamental to getting the barreled actions shipped out, in order to best accomodate everyone please use the Subject Line approach listed above."

Hmm, wish I’d found this thread prior to placing a deposit for the JHR last month. My order number 4000 something so I might get notification sometime in 2020. Not acceptable so will write off the $250 and invest in some minor upgrades to my Tikka TAC A1...

I wouldn’t write off the $250. These r nice rifles, your a month in on your Wait. I’ve waited over 2 years for rifles to be built and 1.5 year for scopes to be built. Just be patient. You won’t be disappointed.

man that shipment of JH that came in sure seems like it was a long time ago now... we haven’t heard of a anyone getting shipping info.

I sure wouldn't write it off, you've already paid the deposit, just let it ride. You go on with your life and some day you get an email saying your rifle is ready, then you make the decision. So what if you go to sleep and wake up several thousand times  before you get the email, you're gonna do it anyway. Stay the course!

JHR order #1953 (1/29/18). As far as I know, I was next on the list. Received Paid in full email on the 14th. Nothing since. I am not sure if we will get an email or just see a change in the order status from "awaiting fullfillment" to something else.....

2331 here, so I'm probably a ways out, which is fine. I also preordered a Steiner M7X so if both are ready in March/April that'd be ok. hell, it's -31 (without windchill) out right now so shooting long distances isn't something I'm contemplating at the moment.

Order 2137 placed 2-26-18 for a RH JH 6.5cr.
No email at all so this batch may not finish out February 2018.
2076 seems to be the highest with a pay notification and some below that are still waiting..
I'm shooting a borrowed savage axis until the J.H. arrives.

Yep, It looks really nice so probably will just leave the order as is so if/when they contact me, I can make the decision. My Tikka is 6.5CM and dialed in pretty well so not really needing a new rifle. That said, was hoping to try out the JHR in 6CM this season. Oh well.

hopefully with the new production and expanded facilities they will be moving along with the JH rifles. At least that's my hope. Like you I ordered around Thanksgiving (38xx range I think for myself) and kind of assumed it would be a few months before I see the rifle. I had hoped that it might be april or may time frame so I could use it this summer/fall and maybe go to a match or two (I don't currently have anything to use for that type of shooting), but hoping (again) that it's not as bad as the two cans I put in jail around the same time.

Hopefully after SHOT show settles down and folks get back into their offices, they might be able to respond with some guidelines for when things might ship (JH orders #18xx thru #22xx will ship in February, #22xx thru #28xx in March, etc).

Order 2076 placed Feburary 13 RH JHR 6.5 CR - final payment made and waiting for shipment notification.

Order #2044 placed on 08 Feb 18 for JH 6.5 Cr. Got an email for final payment 14 Jan 19. Hope this helps someone.

This is a part of the email sent on 14 Jan 19:

"If you are receiving this email that means we will be building and finalizing everything on your JHR rifle shortly. Actions are in hand.

What this means is at this time we would like you to go online and complete payment for the remainder of your rifle. This email has only been sent out to the customers in this batch. Please don't reply with questions unless it is important as we are EXTREMELY busy at the moment."

Load development day. Decided to put about 28 rounds through her just to break her in (cleaned after the first 10rds then called it good) before shooting a chrono ladder and even my break in/fireforming load is shooting single digit SD! Very impressed so far. Loving this rifle and ADG 6.5SAUM brass!!!

140ELD @ .020” jump
ADG 6.5SAUM virgin brass
58gr H1000

Just an FYI for those that ordered a JHC SAUM or PRC, ARC mags hold 6rounds and only need the lips Opened up a bit so the round rises higher in the mag. Both of my ARC mags fed 6.5SAUM beautifully yesterday.

I am order number 2332, placed April 1, 2018 (bad day!), for a 6.5, right hand, black stock.

Bought a rifle last week to shoot since there is really nothing firm about when to expect these. Anyone interested in my spot?

Cheek rest is nice. Info on how to make please.

Neoprene closed cell foam cheek pad how to.

I’m going to post this for those that don’t enjoy having your face be against plastic. If you want to do a closed cell neoprene cheek pad, here is how and where.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/CCNS-Rubbe...m=223034247876&_trksid=p2349624.c100930.m5375

First make a paper template.
Grab a sheet of printer paper.
Remove your cheek piece off the stock.
Cover your cheek piece with the paper, think taco.
Rub your finger on the edges to create a creased outline of the cheek piece.
Cut out the template on the outline.
Test fit your template and adjust as needed.

Once you are happy with your paper template, tape it using scotch tape to the foam side (not adhesive side) of the neoprene sheet. Use scissors to cut out the shape from the sheet of neoprene. You may also use a xacto knife for the areas that are hard to get at with scissors.

Once it’s cut out use a Dremel and sanding drum to blend in rough edges on the neoprene cheek pad.

Clean the cheek piece with rubbing alcohol to promote better adhesion, peel and stick. Stick from one side to the other making sure not to leave air bubbles under the foam. This is closed cell so air can’t escape after the fact.

This pad provides traction and comfort without soaking up sweat. When it gets dirty, just wipe with a damp rag.

God damn it I sound like a fucking salesman. ?
