I got some of the externally threaded QD sockets from a company whose name escapes me at the moment. I want to install them on the side of my A3 stock, and I can't find the thread on people doing this. I would think it would simply be a matter of drilling a slightly oversize hole and using MarineTex to epoxy in the socket - is there anything else I should know before I take a drill to my $500 stock?

They are Grove Techs, I just couldn't remember the name.

It's not bad. But buy the tap and die so it threads into the stock. I think you start off with a 1/2 drill bit. It's hell finding the tap locally or at least is was around here.

Don't drill oversized holes. Drill tap hole size and buy the right tap. Can't remember right nowadays I think they're 9/16. This way you can set the depth flush. Use apoxy on the threads in your done.,

Or you can mark on your stock and send it to me and I'll do it for you
