Gentlemen, I have a question regarding this Meprolight front sight post

What are your experiences regarding the durability of this product? At brownells the customer feedback is mixed.
It would go onto my M5 AR15 (16,5 AR) on my ARMS 41B folding front sight (back is KAC 2-600). I use this rifle about 1/3 with iron sights, 1/3 with Aimpoint comp C3 and 1/3 with a Fero Z24 scope.
Do I need the low light capability in addition to the Aimpoint? Not really, I just want it because.....I want it ;o)
