When the prosecutor tried to make a big deal about how close the one dude was when Kyle fired, why didn't the defense bring up the 21-foot standard for self defense? The prosecutor made the argument that the attacker was still four feet away so Kyle didn't need to shoot yet.

There were a great number of comments made in that courtroom that should have been addressed. Having discussed the Tueller drill in court, perhaps this is one of them. The Tueller drill involves 1) edged weapons and 2) a holstered pistol, so I'm not sure it's all that comparable anyway.
