First time poster here

I was wondering if anyone knew of a stock for a Ruger 77/17 that was similar to a McMillan A-5. I'm in the process of building a rimfire trainer and having trouble finding something that mimics the size/weight/shape of the stock for my Remington 700.

On a side note, I am also looking to find a scope that is mil/mil ffp to stick on top of it that doesn't cost $1000. Any help would be greatly appreciated, TIA

Re: ruger 77/17 stock

Mcmillan makes a magnum rimfire varmint for the 77/22 so that would work. For a decent mil/mil for a good price look at the SWFA Super Sniper 3x9.

Re: ruger 77/17 stock

You guys are telling me noone makes a stock similar to a McMillan A-5 for a 77/17? How hard would the inletting be if I were to make one myself from fiberglass or wood? what would it cost for a smith to do it?

Re: ruger 77/17 stock

I have a 77/17 and researched for different stocks last year. Didnt find anything. I have a 24" stainless model with black laminated stock. I stripped the stock and redid it and duracoated the metal. Only change I know of for stock is a synthetic 77/22 from Ruger.
I have a SS 3x9 FFP Mil/Mil and for a 77/17 it will fit the bill. $600 from SWFA.
Good luck on the search. Let me know if you find something.
