Hey guys... I heard a rumor and just wanted to run it by you all to see if any of you have heard of this or if someone did NOT know what they were talking about.

I was told that the ONLY LEAD melting plant/facility that is located in MidWest U.S is being forced to close due to EPA regulations that are being brought upon it. The rumor goes further that the facility is forcing its closure by the END of this year and planned to relocate to Canada.

Any truth to this? I can NOT find anything on it.

This all concerns me IF it is true as I would believe it would DRASTICALLY increase the price for ALL types of ammo and components.

Money talks and share holders want dividends, and lead is produced cheaper in Canada and Mexico.

If you want to worry about something find out how far Canadian Club and Tequila are made from the smelters. (the worm in the bottle of Tequila could have died of lead poisoning)

Surely all of the lead going into American made bullets isn't coming out of this one plant... (is it?)... I don't know.

I think there have been enough bullets already sold in the US since the fake Sandy Hook debacle that we can make it thru WWIII before we run out. :eek:
 
We can always dig up and recycle our berms... I know I've personally re-introduced plenty of lead back to the ground.

A private company decided not comply with new regulations; it was more economically expedient for the owners to close up shop. Let's not forget that. Additionally, it's easy to lose sight of the fact, in the surge toward paranoia, that townspeople--and yes, their lawyers--were trying to get this place to clean up for twenty years or so because kids were increasingly fucked up by toxic levels of lead in their blood due to the laxity of the plant's containment measures.

Is it bad the place closed down for the 270 people that worked there? Yes. Is it bad for industry in the U.S.? Probably so. Is this a gun grab orchestrated by the highest levels of the government. Not on your life. This has been in the making for decades and is a story of regulation and profit margins.
 
Yall need to head over to Sierra's blog and read what they had to say about it....and, just relax.....
