Thanks to impulsive purchasing tendencies, I am a proud owner of a Savage BAT/S .308 sniper rifle. With a 24" fluted heavy barrel, complete free float, canted muzzle brake, and accu-trigger, this fine lady should prove to be quite the shooter.
Today, I checked out a Leupold MK IV scope with a mil-dot reticle from the armory. The reviews that I have read regarding this scope are promising, but I am hoping to get a little more information from those who have experience with this scope, especially if anyone has this scope mounted on the same weapon system. Though I am a firearms instructor for the federal government, I mainly teach pistol, shotgun, rifle (M4), and tactics (room clearing, bounding overwatch, etc). I am not a sniper, yet.
That being said, I would like to know if the scope that I am preparing to install is a good choice, what range would be ideal for sight in, and if utilizing that variable zoom will throw off the zero at all. Any other information or tips that come to mind would also be appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Kodiak338
