Hey guys, need a little help finding glass for a multi-purpose rifle. I'm thinking this would be mid range gun say 500 yds and a "atv hunting" gun as in not hump it for 3 days just 200 yds or so. The stick is a 20" remmy 700, its probably going to end up in a lighter stock as im trying to keep the weight on the lighter side. Budget wise is probably going around 6-800.

Im thinking the SS3X15 mil-quad & vortex hs-t 4X16 VMR1 are the front runners. Other options are the 3X12 Bushnells (saw a DMR 3.5X21 used for 860)

Im looking for decent glass
Good tracking
Relatively tough

For mid-range magnification under $800, you're on the right track with the SWFA and Vortex mentioned. I would also add the Burris XTRII 3-15x, and possibly the Weaver Tactical 3-15x50 if the weight isn't too much for you.

If you will primarily encounter bigger-bodied animals on the hunt, as opposed to varmints, some really nice optics with a little less magnification and weight could play well too:

SWFA 3-9x42
Vortex 2.5-10x32
Sightron SIII 3.5-10x44
Leupold VXR Patrol 3-9x40
Burris XTR II 2-10x42

I'd add the new bushnell LRH to the list. It's on the upper end but if you're patient you can grab one on here for about $800 I bet. I love mine and I paid the full price for it.
