Since just getting back in to reloading I've been working on a load development for 168 SMK using Reloader-15 shot through my Rem 700 SPS Varmint that I just got put together and bedded in a Bell and Carlson Tactical Medalist stock. I started at 42g of R-15 and worked up to 44g in 0.4g increments. I settled on 42.8g loaded in LC brass with Win-WLR primers and settled on a COAL of 2.810. These 5 shot groups were shot prone with a bipod and rear bag from 100 yards.

Looks like that's a winner! Why 168's? Are you shooting mainly under 600? I switched to the 175's recently. Take less powder and are good at much further distances as well as close range.

JC98, I picked up 200 168's at a good price and currently planning on shooting them out to around 500 or so. As soon as they are gone I plan on working up a load for some 175's to shoot out to 1000. I just got into reloading for rifle (used to do a lot of pistol) and bought the 168's local just to get things started. This rifle also shoots the 175 FGMM Factory ammo just about this good, not quite as good of groups (a little over 1/2 moa) so I should be able to work up some good 175's for it also.

Nice shootin! My sps-v loves 178 a-max with 44.1 gr varget seated .010 off the lands. Also shoot great with 168 a- max with 44.1 gr of imr 4064 seated .010 off the lands. (Kinda weird two different bullets and powders with the same charge weight was the most accurate). I have to single feed these though, 2.948 oal.
