Mine, 2013 Aprilia Tuono. A little temperamental and high maintenance like most exotic Italian things but hella fun to ride 😁

Holy shit...another Tuono! Mine is a 2004, nicely tuned by AF1 Racing, now in Austin. One walk through their work/dyno area will have you calving off cash for upgrades to your bike. Want a V4 in the worst way, but have to sell two to get one. Really great to see another Aprilia aficionado here, few that we are.

It is indeed nice to see another Aprilia brother! AF1 is mecca for Aprilia. Never been to their showroom but I've almost bought a 2018 Tuono from them over the phone! Great dealership 👍

I've never ridden a 390 but I have a 790 that I'm quite fond of.

I passed on the bike. It was too cramped for me even though I come from over 15 years on sport bikes. It was a bike that got knocked over at the dealership and they were selling it for $3100 OTD. I originally thought"fuck it, why not!" Until I had a few minutes in the saddle sitting on it.
My joints just don't enjoy being cramped up anymore.

I'm on the rev limiter quite a bit on the 790, the 390 would be great fun on really tight roads but I don't blame you for taking a pass. There's a lot of leg room on the 790, the 390 is similar i would assume.

The Tuono pegs are high and they do get to me after hours but the triangle is different than with clip-ons.

I had to get rid of a ZX-10R because of that. It was a phenomenal machine but the combination of high pegs and low bars ruined me. Also it was like driving a Formula 1 car on the road.

Any other Suzuki Vstrom owners here, I picked this up new last week. It's a 2019 1000 XT Adventure. I traded in my 2002 Honda ST1100 which I had owned for 18 years. It's a good time to be a buyer, I got this one for $11,150

Awesome thread!

These were my last ones:

Sold them after my bro’s son had a wretched get off at 140mph running from the law. Did it to set an example. Neither him nor I have ridden since.

I tried replacing the itch with these, but it didn’t scratch it enough:

So, I went a step further:
970307EB-5F61-400D-B807-B6703E550EE3.jpeg

And found it lacking in comparison.

Plan on adding a Tenere and s1000rr at some point in the future now that I’ve exhausted the attempts to mimic the exhilaration. There’s just nothing that comes close enough to the gratification of riding.

I tried the same thing for a couple of years after getting run over by a truck while waiting at a stoplight. Kept all of my bikes and rode them after a 6 month recovery to get back on. I had some ongoing issues 2 years later so bought a new GT3 RS. It helped somewhat. It had the lightweight flywheel so I had some gear chatter while in neutral. It reminded me of the dry clutch sound of my Ducs. I sold it 4 years later when I no longer needed it.

Ouch! That sounds like it hurt you pretty bad. Sorry to hear of such an unfortunate event.

Glad to see you didn’t waste any time at all and when straight to a GT3 RS. One of the most driver oriented and refined automobiles of all time. Would love to own one, albeit a GT3 touring, but I’m in an internal debate if it’s worth the price jump over a GTS. Of everything I’ve owned no other vehicle has had such perfect communication and harmony with the driver as a 911 with the added benefit of solid reliability. In my opinion you went straight for the jugular on the true driver’s car hierarchy. Great choice!

Happy to hear you mended and moved back into the hobby/sport. I’ll be on your heels before too long...;)

This was taken when I bought it in May 2018. My sport/dirt bike days are behind me. 2018 Gold Wing Tour DCT

At the end of 2018 I added this so I can still ride around in the dirt

Funny you should mention a GTS. I presently own a 2018 in PTS Voodoo Blue. I really think it's the sweet spot in the 911 range. The new 3.0 motor has gobs of torque starting at 2000 rpm so it allow me to really feel it in the seat of my pants without waiting for the 5-9,000 rpm range on the NA motor. and handling is incredible with the rear wheel steering. Enough of cars in the two wheel thread. Enjoy your hunt for bikes. Like your cars also!

I had an identical K12s from 2005 to 2014. Very comfortable and capable sport bike. I had three fellow Ducati riding buddies that would make fun of me when I showed up on the K12s for our longer rides. Within 2 years they all had one.

Ah yes many similar stories. Got laughed at a few times on the local twisties until they got spanked real hard.

Awesome handling bike with the double wishbone front end. I had my Aprillia forks tweeked by Lindemann with a Wilbers out back but I could trail brake like Rossi on that K12S. It made me a much better rider.
