Just picked up a 16.25" Encore barrel. Anyone loaded for something close to this that can recommend a favorite load?
.
I know all guns shoot different but figured I'd ask. Outta be an interesting endeavour.
.
Also debating if i want to go the 162 for the harder hit or the 120 to gain a lil momentum since it'll be launched from the shorter barrel.

I have one with about a 13 inch barrel. For accuracy, there is the necessity for a fast enough twist and for adequate velocity with adequate bullet weights. Mine shoots well with Hornady 139 gr. Spire Points. When I tried Barnes 140 gr. XLCs, I couldn't get enough velocity to stabilize them. So, what I'm saying is you'll probably be better off going with bullets in the 140 gr. or less range.

As far as powder is concerned, the best powder with a long barrel, notwithstanding what the reloading manuals say, is also usually the best one with a short barrel. For what it's worth, I use Varget.
