Looking at having Vang Comp do his barrel treatment. I have an 870mag. Question gun is gonna get used for two things coyotes and maybe some 3 gun stuff next year. Is the Vang Comp treatment too much of a good thing? He is getting 00 buck down to 12 inch patterns at 25 yards. DEA just killed a guy at 55 yards with a 14inch Vang 870. 6 of the 9 pellets hit him and dropped him DRT. I was gonna go with a 18-20 inch barrel. Alhams will do a back bore cut/crown and install rem chokes for the same price. So what says the hide. Vang Comp or a Shorty with adjustable choke tubes.

A good friend has a Vang Comp and loves it.
Consider picking up some Federal Flight Control Wad 00 Buck. It has been awesome in everything I have run it through. May just save you some funds.
We shot some through an 18.5 870 and it kept all the pellets on an IPDA target well past 50 yards.
