Last summer I bought a Sig p320 X-Ten Comp pistol to pack around in bear country. I still get out a bit, but at 69 years old I went with the comp and a dot. Last week I added 26/70 grit to the frame. Here's a pic:

The damn thing shoots pretty good and I am using Extreme Penetrator bullets so I get plenty of gas to operate the comp. I actually kind of like the thing. Up until recently I haven't really been to concerned about the uncommanded discharge chatter. Well, it looks like Sig can no longer place the blame on the user. Uncommanded discharge is apparently a real thing, albeit very rare. My Sig also has a trigger job by MCarbo consisting of springs and polishing.

I have the opportunity to trade it at the LGS toward a FN 510 Tactical. I know nothing about FN, never even shot one. Online reviews tend to show the 510 is GTG. I do know there are some pretty decent comps being made for the 510T if I want to tame it down. Here's a pic:

If you were walking around in my moccasins, would you just keep the Sig? Am I being paranoid? Also, a buddy of mine tells me that if I go with a different gun, ditch the optic. Shit happens to fast to have a dot in the way. He's a Grandmaster USPSA Production shooter with good vision. I am a former USPSA Limited shooter (GM) with so-so vision, but I still have a good index.

I hope I get some decent opinions on this subject...being the pit and all. ;)

It's a SIG. Trade it for anything other than a hi point and you are good to go.

Keep it for 20 years and it will be rare and coveted and bring big $$$.

When all of then get destroyed and you have an original... collectors will drop to their knees and swallow to get one.

So buy every one you can get for peanuts.

Just 'sayin.

Have any of the 10mms had any issues?

Anyways, check it via this guy's tests, he's got a couple videos.

I have two P320s, both with grayguns triggers, one is a Wilson Combat, which by the way, nobody seems to mention, if these things are truly dangerous, Wilson Combat didn't see it, Parker Mountain machine makes custom P320s. And so on...

But anyway.

I tested both of mine and didn't see any issues, I have no problem carrying mine appendix and do, because they shoot great. Both of mine have manual safeties.

It seems like the proper trigger/trigger bar takes care of things, so I don't know that it really needs to be a huge deal, but that's a personal decision.

If you bought it because you like it more than other choices then read the manual, and follow the instructions.

If you bought it because the cool kids all have one then sell it and get a 1911. If better to be safe and have a great trigger.
Manual says not to carry/store with a round in the chamber. Kind of dumb to be racking the slide with a pissed off bear heading your way at 40 mph.

I saw a video where the tiny parts in the striker assembly broke and caused the problem.

Looking at the firing mechanism in that gun it’s obvious that it is too complicated and fragile. It’s a stereotypical crunchenticker. Whoever designed it is a retard.

What’s makes me nervous is the amount of possibilities- Sig says it’s bad boosters, bad ammo , poorly trained stupid Americans ,it’s aftermarket triggers or other aftermarket parts.
Others claim it is a flawed design in the trigger sear interface of poorly designed over complicated striker and or sear .
Fuck maybe I’ll pic one up when some runs a smoking deal on PD trade in.

All of the above?

This. Mine didn’t even go in for the trigger “upgrade.”

“Unvaxed,” as it were.

I have FN 510 and love it. It is a handful to shoot but does shoot very well. I am an FN fan though have several 509s love them all. I think they are very under rated pistol. I did replace the triggers and went with Apex's in all of them along with rmr's. There all the same so nothing changes with the feel of them. Works for me.

I have the Sig 320 M18 with manual safety and a leupold red dot on it. It shoots very well, I have 3 different safariland holsters for it including a Aiwb model . I also have a SUREFIRE x300 light I mount on it. So yep a good bit of money tied up on this gun. However since the reports have come out about the AD/ND whatever I have set it back in the safe and hope Sig will admit a design flaw and provide an improved trigger group, which they should do IMO. Otherwise that platform is going to tank big time.
I have shot the FN pictured but not enough to be able to say yay or nay , kind of like a G19 , it probably just runs great.

Side note love my older FN P- was replaced by the X .
And all FN and after market support died immediately. But it is a very accurate reliable duty sizes pistol .

I would love to see someone who does not believe the design is flawed carry a P320 groin-line, with a round chambered, magazine full, doing CrossFit Fran on YouTube Live with credible witnesses present.

I won’t carry anything pointed at my junk, not even my trusted 1911s. No idea what cross fran means, but not into this new pick your gender crap.
