CameraLandNY is a good place, I'm pretty sure they can come real close to that Amazon price.
I think the only real "upgrade" is the tightened diopters. Some complain about a blue tint in the right barrel, but I got a set with loose diopters and I don't see that, so that may be hit or miss.
Also, I'm not certain anyone knows for sure at what point the diopters were tightened up. I doubt anyone is going to go cut a bunch of boxes open to test for you, but maybe they can pick one out of their latest shipment from Sig.

+1 for CameraLandNY. I just started buying from them myself. @gr8fuldoug is active on the forum and was very responsive/helpful when I had some questions on the Athlon scope I purchased. Will be going back when I need (or just want :p) something else.

Mine came from Brownells and have tight diopters, the other benefit is Brownells offers a lifetime satisfaction guarantee, so that can be worth something especially since most optics companies even the big names are only offering 2-5 years on electronics in their optics. It's actually pretty surprising to read their forever guarantee, sounds pretty much no hassle. "If you buy a product from Brownells and decide you don’t need it, don’t want it, or just don’t like it, we’ll take it back any time" Looked on their returns page and doesn't seem like any hassle/fine print, but I admit I've never used it.

Big thanks to @afd77 He hooked me up with the O-rings. Came in a pack of 12, so I have 5 extra pairs that I can share with anyone that needs them. Just let me know.

Finally got to speak with Doug and not only is he out of them but he's being told it will be February before he can get more. I looked around and the only one that seems to have them in stock is Amazon.

In the past when things disappear just before Shot Show it often means that a new model is going to be released at Shot.

Has anyone heard any rumors regarding this?

You never know with Sig, they are the firearm king of release it and replace it with a new model in 6 months (The MPX had 3 generations before it was even 2 years old). Sig is on what their 3rd or 4th generation of Tango rifle scopes and they have only been on the market 3 years. They've made more generations of handheld rangefinders in 3 years than Leica has in the last 10. So they've made it clear they are willing to replace a design/model at any time.

They are basically testing the archery marketing model of adding a bell and whistle and releasing a new model every year with fresh new marketing hype. It works in Archery and it will likely work in firearms if they can keep pace, and keep QC just high enough to keep from getting a bad rep. In firearms their reputation for quality is already eroding, and they have not done themselves any favors in optics.

Sig is also known for producing things in batches so it's not uncommon for their parts, etc. to be out of stock/unavailable for long periods of time.

Thanks for the valuable info... I think I'll get back on the fence and hope there is a "new and improved" version of the Kilo 3000 coming soon presumably shortly after Shot 2020.

While I don't like that Sig didn't include lens covers and the carry pouch is a weird abomination that is going in the trash, the ocular focus hasn't bothered me so far.

I got an ocular cover from JeremyV and it fits and works great, thanks Jeremy for making them available to us. I asked that mine be made to fit snug on the eyepieces and they fit perfectly. I also installed a pair of Butler Creek Multiflex objective covers part number 33940 and they work very well.
How do I get ahold of JeremyV or someone to make me covers for the sig 3000 bdx

I got several pm from different members wanting these but before I send any off wanted to get some decent photos of these and cover some details. First off they fit loose around the eye pice and snug on the Diopter ajustment ring this makes it really quick to get them on and off however if you adjust your eyecups out then they won't fit over the diopter.
If anyone wants some made that fit tight on the eyecups I can make those too just let me know. I tried it both ways and liked it this way better but I don't screw out the eyecups cause of the shape of my face ;)
How can I Get a set?
My wife just got me the sig 3000bdx binos for xmas

Just got my second pair they appeared fine but wouldn't update firmware and now exhibiting the same issue as the last pair. Rangefinder just stopped working. Diopters were very stiff which was an improvement but disappointed is an understatement.

While Sig can and will replace anything at anytime, from what I've seen of SHOT reports, and their webpage they did not update the Kilo3000's. They did release the next gen BDX scopes though. One nice thing about these optics with electronics is many features can be added etc. through just firmware updates.

I started with the Sig Kilo 2000 then I bought the 2400 ABS and now I have the 3000BDX all three have been great not a single problem with any of them except the diopters being a little looser than I would like on the 3000.

Do I need to call Doug to get better prices on the kilo 3000? I've seen guys saying they're paying aroynd $900, but I haven't seen anything besides $1200. Looking to get something ordered in the next few days.

Reaching out to Doug is always a good first move. He is a solid guy and always tries to take care of you. As far as the 3k, there is no new product at this time, they are still for sale. Prices were pretty aggressive around Christmas, not sure what they are now, but definitely would call Doug directly or PM him and see what he can do for you.

You probably aren't finding them cheaper than $1200 because Sig just jacked up their MSRP on them, which is pretty common for them. MSRP used to be $1439, now it's $1559. They might have also sent out nastygram or adjusted the minimum advertised price(MAP). In Dec. plenty of placed had them listed at $999 or less, Brownells was $959, Dvor was $899, etc. but now everyplace is at $1199 or higher in stock or not.

That's exactly what I'm seeing. Maybe the increased msrp reflects them fixing the diopters?

I suppose that's what I get for waiting. I'll call camera land tomorrow.

Just picked up a pair of them...how are people mounting them to tripods?
I am running the outdoorsmen mount and stud with an arca rail on the bottom. Working great so far.

The Outdoorsmans mount/stud system is definitely the best quality mount on the market hands down.

I also have the Sig Kilo3000 BDX's and just went through what your going through.

With Outdoorsmans being somewhat local to me (in the same state) and not being adverse to a drive, I dropped in on them to have them hook me up with the correct set-up for my binos.

They have two heights/sizes, short and tall and numerous studs to fit different bino brands. We played around with each size and determined after mounting each of them to a tripod, that the tall size allowed the critical room needed to properly adjust the binos.

With the stud properly installed on the binos and the set screw secured (VERY IMPORTANT SO AS NOT TO LOSE THE STUD) the binos are then slid into the mount until they lock into the spring attenuated lever. Once attached to the stud and the push release top cap on the mount is tightened down, the binos cannot accidentally come off the mount as with the Swarovski flip lever mount. Other mounts just hand tighten and can loosen allowing the binos to dislodge from the mount and fall to the ground. Just see how that makes you feel when you're running a stage with your $1000+ tripod mounted binos secured to your pack and they come off and hit the ground.......Sonofabitch!

For the Sig 3000's the Swarovski stud fit the best. I bought two of them so I had a back up just in case. I also purchased their ARCA SWISS rail piece.

Joe is the guy that hooked me up and was very knowledgeable about the mounts and fitting my binos with the proper mount stud. I'm glad I made the trip to see them out in person. I was extremely satisfied with the customer service and Joe and I even talked a little Havelina hunting which he was heading out to do the next day. Guys this is a "specialty" shop with very high end hunting/shooting/optics equipment and NOT a sporting goods store. This was not some $11 an hour Big 5 counter guru experience. They talk the talk and walk the walk.

As a side note, Gray Ops CNC also has an interesting base plate made for the Outdoorsmans bino mount, it's called the Outdoorsmans Arca Adapter. It has two built in studs on the plate that lock into the riser mount to keep the mount from rotating when secured to the plate. I'll be ordering one to check it out.

If you have more questions, let me know and I'll try and help.

I edited this post to add additional info and to correct spelling errors when I typed it on my phone last night. I also have no affiliation with this shop other than being a "very" satisfied customer.

I'm using the vortex bino mount and its working just fine.

I will add that I've been impressed with the ranging ability of these sigs. I had the kilo 2000 before and had problems getting it to read much past 800 on steel. These 3000s do a mile, handheld, easy. Glass is plenty good for me, but I don't have any real alpha stuff to compare. I also haven't had issue with diopters. The laser is centered at about 6 o'clock in the aiming circle.

Let us know what you figure out. I don't like the butlers much. I prefer the 270* flip that vortex and other do, but I don't see any vortex caps that will fit.

I'm also in the same "looking for caps" boat. It's a shame the Butlers aren't what they used to be. I know it would be pricey, but I just sent Jon Aadland an email to see if he can make some caps. If you haven't used his caps on your scope, you're missing out on the best caps available.

I don't think you need the Elite. I think the model without AB Elite software links and will compute 800+ yard firing solutions, just with slightly less accuracy if you want to shoot in to or past the transonic region.

I have it with the universal stud and it fits perfect for me. I don't see what they could really improve to make a better stud for the Kilo 3000 BDX.

    Hey jinxx4ever,

If you just called you probably spoke to Blake as he answered the phone for me when I called, I had to ask specifically for Joe and he reiterated that yes the Universal stud will absolutely work.

But.............if you want the stud that not only fits but looks the best on the 3000's, it's the Swarovski stud. The Swarovski stud has a little larger diameter flat/ring plate that covers the threaded stud area on the binos. It's not only a little more aesthetically pleasing but it covers a little larger area of the mounting area on the binos and potentially can keep dust and debris from blowing or getting into the swivel joint.

Just my personal experience from having actually physically gone there and having my 3000's fit for the system versus ordering online or over the phone. It's also how I know that the tall mount fit better on the 3000's, as we test fit them both.

I reconfirmed what I previously posted above in a conversation I just had with Joe a few minutes ago. YES the Universal and the Swarovski studs will both work. I chose to go with the Swarovski stud.

There you have it, hope it helps.

So are the ones on the market 1M or 3M lasers and does it matter?

So in the end does it matter in terms of ranging? Their 2400abs is a 3 and the 3000bdx is 1M, so does it play into the equation?
