Sinclair Benchrest Press

I would like to try one. The 10 degree tilt is really the only thing that kept me from buying one... the tilt seems wonky to me. I like the simplicity of it though, looks slick.

Looking at that one is how I ended up with the press I use now for all my precision stuff: a Lyman Ideal.

It's cheaper than most dies, but it's awesome, simple, and no bullshit. I figured if it sucked, I'd only be out less than $100, and maybe I'd just use it exclusively for seating bullets... but it's been through 3 barrels and 5000+rds and I still think it's great. Similar design as the Sinclair, just made of cast iron, it's definitely not for back and forth to the range though, it's a heavy bitch for such a small press.

My journey started with the Lee Classic Turret reloading .45APC and .223, and mediocre .308 rounds. Went to the Lee Challenger, and looking back, it worked surprisingly well... for .223 and .308. When my neighbor and shooting friend moved to Alaska he left me his Rock Chucker. And I have used it for many years. Stepped up to the Co-Ax but sold it after 6 months, back to the Rock Chucker. Recently I spent an afternoon with a friend reloading on his Area 419 Zero.
I now have a very used Rock Chucker, complete with the Hornady lock and load set up including bushings that I no longer use. I can help get your feet wet, but please realize that reloading is not just a journey, but a disease. You will not save money, because you will shoot more and ...you will always need more equipment.
