I got a chance to sneak a look at the new hunting rifle action coming from Wild Call Custom (BlackOps Tech subsidiary)... super sweet looking receivers, too bad these all have the bolt on the wrong side or there might have only been 4 in the picture instead of 5...
Somewhere I got a picture of a big box full of freshly machined bolt shrouds as well, but those were nowhere near as exciting as these receivers!
Double pinned rails, true helical camming surfaces on the PE Cam and bolt raceways, blind rear action screws, EDM raceways, and reduced weight in the tang and ejection port wall area they are pretty darn light. The kicker to all of them... every receiver has a QC Cert similar to the way aerospace parts are shipped, CMM qualified measurements and SN based tracking. I was very impressed to find out about them.
I'm anxious to see the resulting rifles built around these actions, if/when I get to see more I'll share them.
