Nowhere near where I started.

I had my mind set on a S&B 5-25 x 56.

But I just couldn't pull the trigger on a $3K scope.

So I backed off (a hair) and ended up with a Mil-Spec Nightforce - sight unseen.

Anyone here got one?

What can I expect when this beast arrives next week?

Any downsides to the Mil-Spec model over the regular?

The only obvious downside I see is that I had to go with the mil-dot reticle. Wanted the MLR2. But we'll see.

Thanks - and will post pics next week.

You can't go wrong with a NF. I've got a mil-spec as well and a few others and they are all top notch.

You will not be disappointed!

The only downside is that you can't change the reticle, which IMO isnt really much of a downside. If you look up the Army Spec thread in here, it gives a rundown of all the differences between the mil spec and the regular nightforces. I bought one as well, havent had a chance to play with it yet, but I think you'll be pleased with yours.

To say it's solid is an understatement. You won't be disappointed. The reticle info in the manual that came with mine was for the SFP models, so I put one together that is for the F1. Your reticle information may be more complete than what came with mine, but if not, here's a more specific diagram:

I have the F1 Army Spec and love it. It's a great scope for the money. The S&B's are getting way out of the price range of most shooters at over 3K and the NF fits the bill nicely. Depending on what type of shooting you do, the MilDot will serve you well. The MLR2 is probably going to be my next NF purchase.

My brother in law picked up one off of Euro Optic. I've only got to use it at 100 yds off his LMT MWS, but it was still pretty awesome. The reticle is a bit thick on full power at that short of range, though. Backed it up a bit and it was fine.
