    Stoker Trailer - YouTube

Anyone seen this? I just got through watching it and it was very dark and disturbing. It was honestly a breath of fresh air to see something like this rather than your generic horror movie. I have to say Matthew Goode's performance is as disturbing as Christian Bale's in American Psycho and Matt Damon in The Talented Mister Ripely.

I'm honestly surprised it aired as R and not NC-17. It has some seriously dark material in it IMO. Might be one of the best horror films i've seen in a long time 8/10 for me.

Thought it was pretty good, too. Great art direction and really nice camera work. I think, more and more, I enjoy movies that don't clutter things up with a bunch of dialogue . . . clever or not. The silence (or ambient sound) in this movie is part of the narrative; overall I thought it was well done. And creepy.

I just finished watching this after watching the trailer from your post. I thought it was very good while being ambiguous, dark, and intriguing, definitely not something you see often from Hollywood. I thought the acting was phenomenal too. I had a lot of questions when it was done, but I like that it made me process what happened. Thanks for the recommendation.
