The Great Beyond
So me and Doc Jr are in the car this AM as we have 3 cars and 4 drivers, so i need to drop him at work and go to my physical. He draws the opening shift at Cabela's on Thursday.

Its a bit before 8AM. Store Opens at 9. There is a crowd loitering outside.

I asked, "Are those the locusts"
He says "Yup, I know them all by name"
I asked when they opened and then said "Can't believe they are already here"
He says "Dad, the line STARTS at 5AM--its the same guys every day"

smh
My only hope is, there is no bailout like their was for the Hunt brothers....

so this is exactly why there is free market capitalism. and ill probably take heat from people who dont want to do capitalist things when capitalism does its duty with products they like.... but....

Cabelas should raise the price of their ammo and components until price corrects the demand. Raise it until you have no one showing up at 5 am to buy it. Then lower it back down until it sells at a supply-demand driven rate. Thats the way the free market works. Its beyond me that Cabelas has not done this.

I was at Cabela's on Monday. Know the guy that is in charge of the gun dept. over all. Known him for over 30 years. I asked...no ammo at all anymore?

He says, " No we have some and are getting it and it goes fast but have to keep it behind the counter now."

I asked why behind the counter now? He said, "They've had fights break out inside the store over the ammo!" I said, " your BS me right?" He said, "Nope!"

Shit's out of control!

Well today I was able to get 400 rounds of 12 gauge And 100 9 mm.
Around noon with no line and I was originally there for a portable sunshade. And I could’ve bought more but I didn’t want to.

Probably to keep people from getting on this and other forums raking them over the coals for price gouging....ha ha they just can't win.
That ship sailed. Gouge is such an overused word in our gun community that it has no meaning anymore. Inflation, component costs, and demand are more than enough justification needed to raise the price to reflect the market.

Cabela's could come out and give everyone a lesson in economics. " To those upset at our increase in price, Cabela's does not set the price of our goods, the market does and we respond accordingly. 'Murica!!"

Annnnnnd that's why I never had a problem with CTD's pricing......you can either buy it or not.....I don't believe price gouging exist in non emergency situations......🤷‍♂️

I was in Murdoch's yesterday and they had 9mm for 30 cents or so a round. Not a lot of it, but it was just sitting there. Like it was 2019.

Some of what CTD was shit, canceling orders under set prices to list the items higher. That was bad business.

But you're right, I wasn't mad at them for raising prices, I just chose not to give them my business. Wasn't any reason, other than the first statement, to be mad about that. Just don't buy from them and it sorts itself out. Many people were unable to fathom that
