Subsonic 260 rem Loads?

Re: Subsonic 260 rem Loads?

I have thought about the same thing. You will want to use a 140 or 160 grain SP flat base, and look at Titegroup or Trail Boss powders. A starting point is the big question. I don't want to experiment with a custom gun!! As a start, I'd load up 10-12 grains of Trail Boss , and see what velocity you get. Then work it down from there. If something work, let us know!

Necked-down Remington 7mm08 brass (had it laying around and didn't want to use my Lapua brass on something that's probably not gonna make much difference)

Hornady 160gr Interlock RN bullet

10.5gr Trailboss

CCI Large Rifle Magnum primers

2.845" COAL in a Bartlien 5r 1 in 8.5 twist 24" barrel with an AAC 7.62 SD

1040fps / 1 MOA @ 100yds

Haven't shot the load a whole lot - we'll see how it does at longer range next week. I'll be interested to see at what point the bullet destabilizes.
