Looking in to a suppressor for a 338 Improved, and will also use it for a 308. Not real sure where to start looking at manufacturers and specs. Any advice appreciated.

Thanks,

Re: Suppressor, where to start looking?

Best in this game is HIGHLY subjective.

Suppressors shift the frequency of the sound. You probably hear different frequencies slightly differently from me. So you will think one is more or less quiet than I do.

Now having said all that, I think the best deal in suppressors is Suppresses Armament Systems. However they are in my home town so I may be a bit biased. It was nice to be able to drop by the shop and check out the new stuff.

I have one of his early 5.56 cans on my work M4. I have been beating the hell out of it for quite some time.

Re: Suppressor, where to start looking?

There are so many great cans on the market today. If you can try before you buy, find someone local and do a range day.

My AAC Cyclone is awesome - is it the best, I'm not sure, but it does what I'm looking for.

With that said, the AAC Titan looks like a good fit for your application.

Also, give Bryon a call at Maj Malfunction - Class III / SOT dealer. He can answer a lot of your questions.

I don't see any links to suppressors on their website, but maybe got the wrong link...

What is the major difference between stainless and titanium. Is it durability? weight?

Thanks,

That is the correct website but their website leaves a lot to be desired. Your best bet is to give Mike a call. He is a pleasure to talk to and really knows is stuff.

How about the Suppressor and sidearm section of this forum?
