This is almost the "blingiest" rifle we've built to date, but it comes in behind the Remington with the Octagonal barrel that we did for one of the ammo companies. The specs are:

Surgeon 591
Jewell Trigger
Bartlein Palma type Contour
Chambered in .243 AI
KMW Sentinel Stock as Finished by UGSW
UGSW Fit and Finish
Graphite Black Cerakote--Flattened
Custom Digital Woodland Camo Stock Finish

It was rather windy this morning when I took these pics, so there's a bit of dust collected at the base of the rail and on the barrel.

MTAR15, you should stop by the shop and take a look at one of our developing projects. I think you'll like it....

Thanks Muley. Bling is usually never a bad thing at all (not that you can't go too far though) and this one is a real looker.

We build a lot of duty rifles and it's nice to build a blinger every now and then....

Re: Surgeon/Sentinel Build from UGSW

Mike, that rifle is absolutely beautiful. I can't wait until you finish my build. Thanks for speaking and emailing me so many times to work out the details. Now for the unpleasant part, waiting. But the good thing is, from what I've seen, seems like it will be well worth the wait.

Re: Surgeon/Sentinel Build from UGSW

Nice looking rifle for sure. I was in my local gun shop yesterday and the staff had just done a transfer on a Skunkworks gun. I all heard about was how impressive this thing was. Keep up the great builds.

Thanks V and I'm generally always available should you have additional questions.

The wait time is getting shorter. Aside from Tim and I working mostly seven days a week, I just hired a new guy and I'm moving him up from Phoenix, so we'll be moving through the backlog a bit faster....

Too bad I got there just a little after the made the transfer. I am just itching for a Sentinel stock and I would have liked to have seen that.

I have one and find it comfortable in any shooting position. As far as the weight I couldn't tell you. I will say my rifle overall is about 17lbs or so I have never actually weighed it yet.

Re: Surgeon/Sentinel Build from UGSW

That rifle looks incredible Mike. The only thing I hate about you posting all these pictures is that whenever I feel like I've finally made up my mind on the type of rifle I want you to build for me, you post another picture of a new build and it muddies up the waters again for me. The barreled action/stock fit never ceases to amaze me on your rifles as well as the quality of finish you apply to the rifle. There's something different about the Cerakote you use on your rifles.

Thanks Gary. We bed quite a bit differently than most (we don't slather the compound in and put the barreled action on top of it) and the process is contributory to how we attain our signature fit and finish. We also mix the Cerakote a bit differently than what the bottle says. Makes a bit of a difference on how it looks out of the oven....

Be sure to give me a call if you have any questions....

Re: Surgeon/Sentinel Build from UGSW

Crazy nice Mike! Makes me think it's time to step it up on my next stick.............

Can't wait for Tammy to collect the Infidel this coming week from our FFL. Then it's pose and picture time to hold me over until I'm home again.

You're awesome Mike, keep up the great work!

Re: Surgeon/Sentinel Build from UGSW

Infidel : (Skunkworks Translation)

1. Any well trained, patriotic and contributory American Citizen that says little and stands hard against those that target the United States. An Infidel will also not hesitate to protect the sheepish, complacent population of the United States that chooses to believe that a well armed society is unneccesary.

Just found this on the Underground Skunkworks site. And thought more people needed to see it. Keep up the unique work.

Re: Surgeon/Sentinel Build from UGSW

Sounds great Mike. Sounds like after the big move and new machinery you are getting settled down and in a groove. Getting another person on the team sounds great. That means maybe the Bat build is around the corner and i will have the varmint build also by the end of the year to help these farmers out on the coyotes. Keep hammering out those master pieces you do and its always nice to get on here and see if you have posted any new goodies to drool over. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Skunkworks</div><div class="ubbcode-body"><div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: Dan Tucker</div><div class="ubbcode-body">Nice rifle and just dig those stocks. Dan,
I have a Sentinel here in "factory form" and the weight with the DBM and EFR installed is 5.6 pounds. I'll weigh it again after we've filled it in, re-inletted and bedded it to see if/how much it changes. Our fill is a bit more dense, so I'd expect to see some weight change....

The machines and people have certainly helped get things moving and now we're out of space. We'll be taking on more space before the end of the year....

We do the single color (our epoxy splatter/web finish and a Polyurethane Enamel finish) finishes in-house. The camo jobs are done at Manners.

KZ,
Molded in colors would be done by the stock manufacturer at the time the stock is molded. Generally, we don't use stocks that have molded colors, as our hand finishing would erase the finish.

Thanks Sully. The 591 is a superb action and we build quite a few rifles on them.

I was not aware of that, thanks for the explanation. How durable is the coating then?
